Welcome to the Floris Mod Pack. This is a combination of a lot of good mods created by the community, bringing them all together and enhancing your gameplay experience.

Originally this pack started as a side project of my After Action Report (AAR) Me, Floris, but soon it had grown into a very full package in its own right. Due to all the different mods and features this pack has grown quite large in size, and asks a lot from your computer. To make Floris available to as much people as possible, we made several different versions:

    Basic: This is just Native gameplay with some added music, sounds and items. If want to play Native with a little extra, this version is the one for you!
    Gameplay: This version is a downgraded version of Expanded, allowing people with lower computer specifications to still experience Floris
    Expanded: This version contains everything Floris has to offer.
    Dev Suite: If you're a modder yourself and you'd wish to fiddle with Floris, this is what you need: the source and all resources you'll need to build your own version(s).

Here are some general notes:

    * It is highly recommended to read the FAQ before playing.
    * As with any large Warband mod, it's advised in the starter to go to Configure -> Video and tick 'Load Textures on Demand'.
    * Since Floris is quite large, it might strain slower pc's. If Expanded tends to run slow on your machine, you might try the Gameplay or Basic version.
    * Because of this enormous size, the loading time of the mod is longer than you are used to. Have patience!
    * The basic version is compatible with any native savegame. Gameplay and Expanded are NOT savegame compatible with Native or any older version of Floris.
    * If you have any request for an additional mod to be added, just head to the Suggestion topic, and I'll see what I can arrange for the next version.
    * If you discover a bug, you can report it in the bug topic.
    * If you need help or if you run across problems, you should first read the FAQ. If no solution is provided over there, you can always ask at the support topic.
    * If you want to use this pack in your own mod, you'll have to ask the authors of each mod in this pack for their permission (check the respective topics!). For the stuff created by me: you can use it as long as you give credit. It would be nice to let me know you've used it.
    * Always make a backup of your native files, so you can easily revert back if you want to.

Permissions for using Floris as a basis for your mod

The Floris Mod Pack is a compilation of a lot of other mods, along with a lot of our own work. We not only provide the source, but give you the possibility with the Dev Suite to recompile the entire mod with your own adjustments. Of course we'd like to see the fruitations of your work, and incorporate good ideas!

But when you publish a mod that uses resources from other people, you need to have permission. A lot of the resources that are used in Floris are OSP (Open Source Project): this means that you can use these resources freely for non-commercial use, as long as you give the original authors credit (altough I recommend checking their pages out: sometimes there are additional conditions, like informing the author that you use their mod). But not every mod used by Floris is OSP. This means that for some mods you need to ask permission from the original authors.

Of course, when you create just some new txt-files (like when you create a new troop tree, or adjust some item/troop stats, or make a new script, or make a translation) and just publish it like that, without the rest of the pack incorporated into your download, you don't have to ask permission from everyone. But if you do incorporate resources from the pack, you need to ask permission.This means that when you use resources from Floris, you can't just use the Dev Suite, make your own mod and publish it without going through the following steps:

  1. Check what you use. What items do you use? All of the ones from Floris? Or just a few? And what about the music, sounds, textures...
  2. Check where it's from. From what mods did those items, textures, music, scripts and so on come?
  3. Ask permission. If stuff you're using is coming from non-OSP mods, you'll need to obtain permission to use it. Sometimes this can take a while, for not every mod author checks the forum regularly.
  4. Credit the mods and their authors. Once you've got permission, you should give credit where credit is due.

It can be daunting to check what item comes form where, but if you've got the names of the items/sounds/music tracks/etc you can always check with me (but do take into account that it might take some time for me to check). If you use everything from Floris, you can of course just ask permission from all the mod authors listed as non-OSP.

Sorry if this question should be in the 'Bug' section but i'm new to the site and can't seem to find it, anyway. It appears that whenever I go to a town and access the marketplace the majority of the time there is nothing in their inventory, only 1 or 2 items of peasant clothing, this goes for all the market tabs. Eventually, maybe around once or twice a month (in game) the marketplaces will have their inventory back again, only for that one time though, and so it's become quite frustrating for me. I'd be very glad to have any suggestions to what this could be. Other than that this is a fantastic mod, great job bro!

This sort of bug has never been reported priorly, so we will need a bit more information from you (using a savegame/what version of floris/what version of warband/rgl log). Generally i would assume that you are using a warband version older than 1.143.

There are 2 problems in the"Gameplay" version :

- Ymira have 3 slots for weapons instead 4, so you cannot use the 4th as usually you use for the other companions ;
- In Tulga you cannot go in the tavern, because if you do, the game crashes and you come back on the desktop windows screen (I have XP Sp3)

I think it's not my problem but I think it's a bug.

1. Its impossible for us to change the inventory screen (its hardcoded in the engine), so im not sure what you mean when saying - she cannot use the 4th slot. Are you sure that she has the necessary stats to use the item you are trying to place there? I will get Ymira in my next testing round and try to equip her fully.

2.Tulga has been fixed in our devbuilt and the issue will be adressed in our next port, which will come out after the next taleworlds patch (expected this week).

well, for the point 2, ok, I will wait for the next patch.
For the point 1, regarding Ymira slots problems, I'll try to explain better :

When you have to equip a companion, if you put attention, you will see in each slot a fist closed.
It means that the slot are free for equipment like swords, javelins, shields, maces, etc.etc.
In my case, one of these slots, doesn't have this image, it's completely empty.
At same time, immediately apperas this errors strings in red :"Unable to find mesh we_rho_sword_rondel"
I don't know what it means, but after this error strings, I'm not able to equip the 4th slot of Ymira, and the error string continue to repeat on the screen.
It doesn't depend on the requirements because appereaing other strings, that are not errors, but advertisement...I'm able to recognize them, of course.
I add, that until i don't remove the weapon from 4th slot, I can't quit from the screen equipment.
It happens only with Ymira companion, not with the others.
This is the problem.
Let me now as soon as possible the source of the problem.

Don't do anything guys,

I found the solutions to myself : there's a compilation error in the file "item_kinds1.txt" (Gameplay mod).
Where you find the point "rondel" it must be written "rondeldagger" in each items, unfortunately, in the 3rd item it's written only "rondel" instead "rondeldagger", this is the cause of the problem, here I post the complete string :
"itm_we_rho_sword_rondeldagger Rondel_Dagger Rondel_Dagger 1 we_rho_sword_rondeldagger 0 12664834 9223372037685248015 40 155668 1.500000 100 0 0 0 0 12288 106 0 47 0 278 12"

This is the right expression, with the three words "rondeldagger".

You probably dont have enough memory. Try lowering the graphics or use the gameplay version of the mod.
