You have just escaped from a mental institution. You’re on the run. The sun is shining, the birds are singing. You are jumping happily from cloud to cloud. You know that the only way to freedom is by reaching the ship at the end of the level. A cute bunny is jumping towards you, blocking your path. By pushing a button the whole world flips around and shows its dark side. The bunny is now an evil nurse who is trying to stop you from getting away. You headbutt her, clearing your path. With a push of the button the world flips back and shows its light side again.

It has been almost two weeks since FLIPSIDE was presented in public for the first time after a month of intensive development. With the creation of our new website we decided it was time to spread the word and share the joy of FLIPSIDE with the world.

In FLIPSIDE the player takes on the identity of a mental patient with extreme mood changes who is planning his escape from the insane asylum in which he is being held. The imaginary escape through the landscape surrounding the insane asylum will bring him to safety on the ship from the people who want to take him back to the asylum.

The escape takes place in a world put together from cardboard pieces and jumping jacks decorated with magazine cuttings, stickers and other. Those objects come alive in his mind as he fantasizes about the obstacles he will face and how to defeat them.

With FLIPSIDE we attempted to beat Source into submission in order to make real a game world that was designed to try something different from what we have become used to with most games out there.

Download FLIPSIDE from Mod DB or FileFront today!

Have fun playing the game and don't forget to visit the FLIPSIDE website at Flipside.thegame.googlepages.com

Thank you Squall_Spiegel for the helpful tip. We are still unaware of why the installer create this problem for some people when it works fine for most, so if anybody have any pointers, we would appreciate hearing about it. Right now we have limited time to investigate in depth ourselves, as we are hard pressed with exams. Thank you for your understanding.

When I tried to install the game the installer told me that it was skipping all the files. To fix this I created a folder on the root of my C: drive called T3Mod. So it was C:\T3Mod. I then created all of the necessary folders for the files that were being skipped inside the T3Mod folder. I got the names and locations of these folders from the same place in the installer that tells you it's skipping files. I then placed the installer in the T3Mod folder and ran it there. All files then extracted properly. Then I moved the T3Mod folder to my steam\steamapps\SourceMods folder and then restarted steam. The mod then worked from there on out.

It appears that there is a problem with the nullsoft installer, that sould really be addressed by the creators of the mod. The installer doesn't seem to want to create new folders so it just skips all files that don't have their folder already created. It also doesn't seem to automatically find the folder where you have steam installed.

I haven't got a chance to play it but it looks awesome. For the people that think this MOD sucks then don't post. It was probably used to show what the source engine can do that isn't an FPS. Mr.M4a1 can go eat a dog turd, and taiit can go to hell.

The concept the graphics and everything is sound, a bit lacking on gameplay.... Maybe a better way to attack and multiple ways to attack, more collectables and longer levels with saving could make it much more enjoyable. But love the concept and the design, great stuff. :)

very artistic mod. I give it 10/10/7

10- for well done textures and models

10- for the high quality sounds. I really enjoyed the music and Hannibal speech.

7- for game play. I know it was intended to be short, but It wouldn't hurt delaying the mod two weeks to release another map. It was also a tad-bit hard. The hight-jump system was tricky and wasn't explained very well. But with the mods flaws can come success. Just tweak the jumping and some extra maps with a storyline and you will get 10s across the board.

this mod was bad. like it wasn't fun,but i did just laugh how Hannibal Hildorf talk.

great job. as "harr" mentioned below, awesome concept. everything's nice and the game has that ingenuous feeling from platformers... too bad there's just one level. hell, why when there is a single-player mod is it so short? :(
