You have just escaped from a mental institution. You’re on the run. The sun is shining, the birds are singing. You are jumping happily from cloud to cloud. You know that the only way to freedom is by reaching the ship at the end of the level. A cute bunny is jumping towards you, blocking your path. By pushing a button the whole world flips around and shows its dark side. The bunny is now an evil nurse who is trying to stop you from getting away. You headbutt her, clearing your path. With a push of the button the world flips back and shows its light side again. “Play FLIPSIDE and see the world through the eyes of a madman” FLIPSIDE is a platform game that allows you to experience the world from two sides. It has been almost two weeks since FLIPSIDE was presented in public for the first time after a month of intensive development. With the creation of our new website we decided it was time to spread the word and share the joy of FLIPSIDE with the world.
In FLIPSIDE the player takes on the identity of a mental patient with extreme mood changes who is planning his escape from the insane asylum in which he is being held. The imaginary escape through the landscape surrounding the insane asylum will bring him to safety on the ship from the people who want to take him back to the asylum.
The escape takes place in a world put together from cardboard pieces and jumping jacks decorated with magazine cuttings, stickers and other. Those objects come alive in his mind as he fantasizes about the obstacles he will face and how to defeat them.
With FLIPSIDE we attempted to beat Source into submission in order to make real a game world that was designed to try something different from what we have become used to with most games out there.

Humm... after more tests, with a gamepad: controls are better but not enought. It's so bad maniability is so boring... this is very important in this kind of game, I hope you will improve it. Interesting game with decaled background are rare and Flipside have good potential ;)

Excellent mod, interesting ideas and cool visual, but control on keyboard are very despairing...

WOW! impressive. I really enjoy artistic mods and I really enjoy when the artist puts in so much effort. This reminds me of a ut2k7 mod with a cardboard cutout player in a 3d world. Amazing!

I absolutely HATE this mod!
Well, not so much the mod as the hardware I have. My computer downstairs is too slow to run the game. My mom's laptop (the only other computer in the house) doesn't have a good enough graphics card to run the game. I want to play it soooo badly! It is a lot of fun (heck, even 6 FPS is fun with this mod!), and I can't wait until I get a new computer to play it.
May I suggest that you make an intro movie? Something to describe what happens. Flipside somewhat reminds me of those N64 games, especially Zelda for some reason. I'd absolutely love it if you would make a 1-2 minute introductory film at the beginning, in the graphic style of the game. Nothing fancy. Just show the guy being happy, and then all of a sudden something makes him angry (ie he can't get past the bee), so he turns very angry and kills the bee. But don't make it a gameplay video! Make it cool! :D

D@rson07, you need to turn into the evil guy and a) kill the bee, or b) get past the bee, maybe get stung once, and climb up on the other side.
Well the mod is pretty cool, easier to control with a gamepad. quicksave doens't work.. or rather it saved but then crashes when it tries to load the game afterwards.
I wish we had more control of the camera (or at least a zoom mode), the one part with the rotating platform clouds is really hard to see where they are, and if you miss you fall in the water and die.. very frustrating. :(

I'd have to agree with saying that it is much easier to control with the gamepad. The Logitech dual-analog stick one works well.
This game actually beats out retail ones I have played before :P

Cool style, pretty good gameplay...I beat it in about 45 seconds.
If I didn't read the intro to the game that you guys had posted, I'd have no idea what was going on. Intro movie sounds pretty cool for that. But the game is so ridiculously short, yeah good job and all, but it's not a "full game". I just played a flash game for 2 hours, much much longer than I played this one.
Cool stuff though, I hope you release more levels or any sort of extended gameplay.

wow this is amazing. Its kind of hard at the start but after playing through it you learn all the tricks. Really great mod guys, wish it had more levels tho =(.
too easy (whit a trick) and too short .. but good idea.
The trick is to go near bee , swap mad mode , attack , fast swap good mode.... so u can attack whitout be attacked.
