About Flanders Fields
In 1914, the world was tossed into turmoil when Archduke Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated by a Serbian radical, bringing Europe, and the world, into a 4 year, 8.5 Million Lives Lost struggle, which we call The First World War. In every war, there are a few battles which stand above the rest, for whatever reason.
In Flanders Fields looks at battles throughout the war on the Western Front. From the mining town of Loos in 1915, to the bloodbath of Passchendaele, In Flanders Fields aims to capture the reality of war in the trenches, while giving a good, solid and atmospheric gaming experience to hardcore wargamers and casual players alike.
About The Name Of The Mod
No, you won't see Homer with an Enfield in his hand. In Flanders, Belgium, in 1915, there was a Canadian medical officer by the name of John McCrae who etched a short poem in his handbook. In December of 1915, that poem was published, and became world renown.
For more information on John McCrae in a Histor!ca Minute (a series of commercials about Canadian History on Canadian television stations), click here. To read the chilling poem, visit this site.

It was two years ago today that we started on a small project for Half-Life, based on The Battlegrounds open-source. To celebrate this time in our history, we're releasing oodles of media for our fans who've stayed with us throughout the time, and for those of you who are just joining us now.
Here is just a taste of what we have to offer you today:
For more media, you can check it out at our site.
As you see, the team has been hard at work as of late, making sure you get the media you've all been waiting for. Another happy announcement is we now have our gameplay (which you can read more about here) completely coded in and working great. After some great play testing, we all agree that it will be a great way to enjoy Flanders Fields.
We all hope you enjoyed this update, I look forward to seeing you in the Forums and IRC! Want more information? Either click on our modDB profile, or head on over to our site.
Only registered members can share their thoughts. So come on! Join the Mod DB community today (totally free) and do things you never thought possible.
what allies will be in the mod?(british, french, canadian)
Can we expect an update or anything like that soon? I would really like to help you in some way, but unfortanly, im to busy with school...:/
If and when this mod is released, I will really love to play it. Since no developers are coming out with a full out-of-the-box WWI game anytime soon, this mod looks like the game to play for WWI junkies. If it is released, it will probably be a worthy successor to Battlefield 1918, the best WWI mod to date (that I have played anyway).
i really want play this!! :D
Will Ypres be in it?
since i only live at 15 minutes of Ypres, and it had an important role in WWI
This year. We cant give an estimated release date but we're making alot of progress.
At least a WW1 mod that really looks great! Im looking forward to see more from this promising mod ^^!
