First Strike is a Star Wars total conversion modification for Battlefield 2142. The goal of First Strike is to totally immerse the players into the amazing universe of Star Wars by presenting the most accurate representations of famous Star Wars locales, weapons, and characters, and combining them with exciting, fast paced gameplay and features new to the Battlefield scene. Within this mod you'll find yourself as a soldier of the Galactic Empire or as a freedom fighter for the Rebel Alliance. You'll fight across lovingly detailed recreations of various Star Wars locations with a wide array of weapons and vehicles.

Greetings Troopers!
In SFX magazine's latest Special Edition (#60: The A-Z of Sci-fi Movies), First Strike's very own TALON (Harold Withers) appears in a full page and a bit spread under the section for 'F' on Fanatics, in which he of course takes the time to plug First Strike.
Check out the article here, the interviewer did get a few of his facts wrong and misquoted me a few times, most crucially where he gives the impression that First Strike isn't even out yet, but it is still a fun article.
Catch the magazine which is still on sale at all good newsagents for a nice fresh slice of First Strike in print, there are some nice free gifts included too so go out and grab a copy.

Im going to get battlefield 2142 just to play this!! This makes up for everything battlefront 2 didnt have
The Reason why we have been able to do so much is due to teh fact that 2142 is 99% identicle Engine wise (not content) as Battlefield 2, and since this mod has been in production for over a year as it was Originaly intended for Battlefield 2, Alot of the artwork creation has already been completed.
Thus we simply need to move alot of stuff accross from one engine to the other, and of course finisht eh content and map creation processing it through the 2142 toolset.
How could you have done so much already? The game isn't even out yet
Diddn't want to get off by telling you that I meant like they need to be able to test the code >< diddn't want to be flamed.
Can't wait guys, also don't try to get a coder. I code Lua C++ and so on and we can tell you that we never EVER get it right the first time.
also, the BF2 engine supports ranking and upgradable classes, imagine unlocking a portable E-Web for stormtroopers, and you could possibly have a Jedi/Sith class, if the engine will allow it
Yeah, I said 'it's going to be on an even better engine'. I should have been more specific by saying it would be on an even better BF2 engine. Same engine, just tuned up.
I believe that 2142 IS the bf2 engine if I am corrent. Someone said it wasnt... When actually... it is. and 2142 isnt rubbish I actually am in beta, and it looks, and plays way better than bf2 imo. This mod should be freakin kick ***. I am looking at most of the work on it, and its lookin pretty hot.
Perhaps the engine change is a good thing. But ill have to buy another game :(
Yeah really, this mod is far from dead! Man this looks sweet, reminds me of the old Galactic Conquest days for 1942. I'm sure this team will do even better though, considering that it has members from Shattered Faith and that it's going to be on an even better engine.
