Greetings Troopers!
As this year's Mod of the Year Awards season draws to a close we'd like to thank all of you who voted for us, propelling us once again into the much coveted position as one of the MOTY Top 100 Mods, that means a lot to us and makes all the hard work seem worthwhile.
So to show our appreciation we'd like to lay one last treat on you just in time for the Christmas holidays. FSDev Twigs has been hard at work shooting a second preview video of some of the content being developed for the Battlefield 2142 Star Wars mod First Strike's most anticipated new map, The Battle of Hoth. This example features work in progress (WIP) in game footage, and so as such does not represent the final product we expect to deliver, but it does provide you with a tantalising glimpse of what we intend to achieve.
Enjoy.

For those about to walk, we salute you
Yes we do
Absolutely AWESOME!!! :D
Incredible video. Just awesome!
I remember this music from that n64 game shadows of the empire. cool vid
Heh, and you might have heard that music in the actual movie as well.
; )
Glad you guys are enjoying the video, Hoth is a massive undertaking, and it is taking some time, but when you see footage like this I hope you guys agree that it'll be well worth the wait.
You can look forward to seeing more footage and content soon as we once again ramp up production on this classic map.
Thanks again to all who have voted for us.
Best incarnation of hoth I have seen yet! Seems a lot more accurate to the films than the battlefront ones and a bit more so than galactic conquest.
Can you upload to Moddb plz?
Not allowed to watch the vid from germany due to stupid GEMA
The video should also be available to view from here:

Oh, didn't bother to check the section, lol. Thanks
Looks really awesome, are you planning to implement the tow-cable takedowns somehow? I understand that engine might set some limitations.
We're looking into ways of emulating the desired effect. So hopefully we'll be able to get a reasonable approximation which will work from a gameplay and lore accurate aesthetic perspective. So watch this space I guess, and see what we come up with.
