This is Firey Explosion Mod for Supreme Commander Forged Alliance. Well, I guess that it's quite obvious what this mod does. I tried to make explosions look more eye-candy while retaining some realism. This is my first attempt to make a mod, so there are still some features I would like to add, but dunno how. Anyway, this mod only alters effects, so it shouldn't clash much with gameplay mods such as 4th Dimension or Experimental Wars.

Description

An updated version of my mod. Fiddled with the emitters a bit to make destruction look more realistic. As you've probably noticed before, there is a slight issue with emitter assignment system which primarily depends on how big the unit is (for some reason the game keeps telling me that T1 Aeon transport is way bigger than T2 UEF transport). This leads to some units being hiper-explosive while some others look like they just turn to husk after sustaining too much damage. I'm afraid that there is not much I can do (provided that my C++ knowledge is rather limited by now), so current effects will have to do for now. I'm thinking about modding environmental effects too, such as dust clouds after explosive shell hits sand or dirt, found a way how to already, though it looks like it could take a while. Anyway, if you have any suggestions about how I could improve this mod, don't hesitate to write your ideas in the comments (or PM me if you prefer).

Yeah, sorry that I forgot those.
Basically just delete any previous versions of this mod (overwriting might work too), put the mod folder in your Mods folder, enable it through mod manager and you are all set.

Thanks very much. But for the uninitiated; where is the Mod Folder commonly found? :)

Well, there is supposed to be a mods folder in your game's folder
Somewhere like this:
"C: /Program Files/THQ/Gas Powered Games/Supreme Commander - Forged Alliance/mods"
If it's not there, create it, and then put mod folders in it. That should work

My game was a downloadable version that came without the 'mod' folder in the main game folder. Thanks for the clear instructions; it now works like a charm! :) Great mod Luxor144, I appreciate it!
10/10

Dude this mod makes it unranked, can't you make it into a ui only mod?
