Firearms:Source is a team based first person shooter, rooted in the traditions of the Firearms mod for Half-Life. Firearms:Source brings the best aspects of Firearms to the Source engine, and then takes them a step further. You'll see a host of familiar weapons and maps, but you'll find the streamlined game play to be faster, focusing on aggressive, skilled play. From nearly the moment you spawn you can expect to be engaged in furious action.
"Who is to say what is the greater consciousness here, the man or the weapon? I will, of course, offer my own humble opinion on the subject for your... greater entertainment. So much for philosophy, but this is my mind and my story, so kindly forget that I mentioned it. When I die, and oh will I die, the faceless puppet of a man that replaces me -will I be him as well? It's getting difficult to tell, we're all so similar. The same package, different gun, like little pieces on a chessboard.
No, not quite. I lied when I said that my successor would be myself incarnate. The undeniable truth is that I am my weapons, that is all. A Colt Anaconda, 12-inch KABAR, Claymore, a pair of M67's, full standard gear, Night Vision Goggles, Bandages. That's what I am. I'll pass through ten thousand bloodstained hands, climbing this mountain of bodies for eternity, adding my own corpses to the pile now and again. Should I ever reach the top? I think I'll admire the view. The man is worthless here; the weapon, the firearm is his soul and mind in this place. Soldiers do not pick their weapons; weapons select new soldiers to carry them. Weapons do not die; weapons kill.
What to call this artistic piroette of speed, weaponry, and bloody carnage? Well, there's no reason to be coy. This is Firearms."
Please Note:
I've deleted several comments from our profile from people who have mistaken us for a different Source engine mod. I would like to point out that Firearms: Source is operating with the support of the current Firearms team. Current FA Team Leader AlejandroDaJ has given us his backing and is currently a level designer, and former FA Team Leader Ben Irwin has also thrown us his support. Former FA Team member Hitman is the FAS Team lead programmer, and former FA Team member Christian Oelund is one of the lead artists.

Welcome to another Firearms: Source news update! It has been a while since our last update due to a lack of new content and cracking down on balancing the mod. The past few months have been filled with map tweaks, weapon tweaks, and bug fixes. We have finally decided to take the burden of news updates off our backs and giving that responsibility to our testers (when they aren't goofing around in the servers). So today we have to show you some screenshots as well as a new video recorded and edited by one of our testers, Lusty Muffins. In the video, mainly you will just see him spanking the other testers with the M14 on ps_sand. If you want a nice 'ROFL' you can go ahead and get a glimpse of the b*tching that goes on during a typical day of testing and read the chat messages during the video.
We also have some screenshots that I grabbed from a demo on sd_mine. Behind closed doors, we are also working on wrapping up our feature list for RC1, and deciding what should be kept and what should be moved for RC1.X. We are trying to wrap up the mod in general, but unfortunately means that some features that we were hoping to make it wont be added until a later patch. But if you will recall, as we have posted in earlier news posts, we will continue supporting this mod for years to come. Well, enough blabbering, here are some screenshots!
Thanks for staying dedicated after all these years. We are almost there!

hi i wanna ask if there will be bots like in CS
nice work keep it up
No, I don't believe so. If someone would like to make a third party bot for FA:S, we would be very appreciative. However, I think that all developement time will be going into creating a better game with new guns, new maps, and bug fixes.
oh man does this bring back memories :P can't wait to see this finished.
i hope you include the anaconda in this mod like the first one that gun was the best.
Yeah the anaconda was awesome *especially with the scope :)* But I really hope for the Beretta M93R pistol. I have a kjw M93R that I LOVE to shoot, I hate that it is not featured in more games.
You guys "MUST" add some death animations for the ragdolls, when the players die it's kinda lame.
We are considering death animations as an RC1+ feature. We definitely want them added, however we will not hold up RC1.0 for it.
game is looking very good
After watching the video, i think you will save that magazine for later use.
Correct. You can also merge all your half used mags to give you a fresh full one. There's a skill that decreases the time it takes to this as well as the reload time.
Ok great i think that will be more realistic then just drop a half full magazine...
