Firearms 2
There has been a great deal of speculation as to what Firearms 2 is, what it is about, why it has formed, who it was formed by, and what a gamer can expect from it. This project was from its conception formed because a dedicated few firmly believed that they could lead the name of Firearms to become something more that it previously was.
The legacy of Firearms seemed to always be something along the right line but just beyond the reach of brilliance. It is this undertone that Firearms always possessed. Firearms was always about a game wide open to various styles of play and it was this distinctive quality that set the game apart from the competition at the time of its conception. As one can expect of such a game that helped pioneer the mod community, Firearms introduced game features that now come standard in most retail games you can buy today. Fire-modes, artillery, and proning. All these were innovations brought on through Firearms. In its prime Firearms was considered to be the second or third most popular Half Life mod. This team believes we can take Firearms to the next level and bring Half-life 2 gamers an experience they have long since been waiting for.
The FA2 Team is comprised of a group of steadfast individuals who want to do everything in their power to create a mod that looks well, plays well, and most importantly, brings back the pure element of fun we all had in the past. You can expect lots of action, accurate weapons, fire-modes, fast player movement, explosives, fully configurable classes, and of course, tons of weapons.
Firearms 2 is being made by the old community of Firearms for the new world of gaming. We are in the business of making a game we love and we will stop at nothing to see our collective vision through. Consider Firearms reborn effective immediately. The days of 6 month releases, lack of website updates, no communication between team members and the community, hatred of clanners and competitive play, and general lack of caring and professionalism to be over!!
We invite everyone to join us on our forums and post actively to what YOU would like to see in FA2. We promise that community input will be considered. However, this game will be structured around Firearms version 2.5 and 3.0. A combination of the two really so please keep that in mind when suggesting items for this game. We look forward to everyone playing this game when it is done and to bringing everyone the game they have been waiting for, Firearms 2!
The Firearms 2 Team.

We are hosting the very last Firearms 1 league ever! However, this is quite different from any other league before... Those who participate will be given testing access to FA2 upon completion of the league. The championship game of this league, will be played in FA2! The very first FA2 clan match ever, so if you want to be part of Firearms history, then sign up on the FA2 forums!

Great to hear that Jonneh. Can't wait as I am a big fan of the original Firearms.
PS: The classes set will be the same as "old" FA?
Bad ass. Can't wait till this mod is done.
ps_coldwar is about 80% finished right now. It will be ready for our first public release along with the following maps tc_iwojima, ps_sandblast, ps_desertcrisis, sd_durandal, ps_battlecreek, ps_upham, issas_box, ps_crash and tc_rubble. Six of those maps are currently finished and the other four are being completed rapidly. The March release date was an old vague guesstimation that I had made. We are currently redisigning our website and we recently upgraded our forums to vbulletin. Once the new mainpage is finished we're going to have a rather large update to show the FIrearms fans. Finished player models, hands, many guns, six maps, and lots of other stuff.
I think the Fortress Forever guys said it best in their developer journal. Making a mod in Half-Life 2 is inifnately more complex than HL, it's making the mod community turn in on itself. I fear that Firearms 2 will be one of the very few mods to actually see the light of day and get released to the public. I think valve needs to take some VERY drastic steps to make it easier for mods to be made. Or Valve won't have a mod community for very much longer.

When this comes out, I ask the developers to convert the ps_coldwar map. I love that one.
I love firearms :)
I cant wait for the source version to get ready :)
Last I heard, you were planning on releasing FA2 in march. This site says 20% complete...which can't be true.
Also: Word up to BlackOpsKiller who said "I hope there's more guns and skills for Firearm 2." Definately needs more / new guns, and some new skills would be an excellent touch.
the original is pretty fun.
all the good mods are gonna take a loooooooooooooooong time to be completed
but i am hopeful, waiting at my computer
We are making the weapon accuracy the same as it was in rc 2.5. No screenshake. No Scope sway for sniper rifles.
Peas tell me your forum user name I'll fix it for you
Whats up with the forums? I signed up, but there aren't any to post on.
