Encompassing the period between the death of Zack and the beginning of Final Fantasy VII, this total conversion follows the experiences of Cloud as he struggles to regain his memory. Featuring non-linear gameplay, the player is set loose within the decaying city of Midgar to explore and interact freely. This is a city in conflict. The elite live in luxury atop its massive plates, ignoring the suffering of the poor and desolate trapped in its polluted slums. Who will the player align himself with? The player's actions are entirely unrestricted. He's a mercenary trying to survive. He may join any organization and proceed through its ranks. Will he be a Turk, or a Shinra infantryman? Perhaps he'll join AVALANCHE and fight the conglomerate's oppressive policies? Maybe he'll even make SOLDIER. Interact with or kill anyone. Take any object, use any weapon, go anywhere. Discover for yourself the story of this dying city and its people. In Midgar, each day's beset by its Mako Dawn, Mako Dusk.
--------------------------------------
Our mission statement:
1. Our Goal is to create a total conversion for TES:Oblivion (hereafter: module), allowing the player to immerse themselves in the world of Final Fantasy VII.

2. The module is created by fans, for fans, and thereby expresses the team's individual view on Final Fantasy VII.

3. The module will concentrate on delivering the dark, foreboding and gritty atmosphere of the city of Midgar, which will be its center and the primary focus of our efforts. When the project is done, the player will walk the streets and buildings of Midgar and, in the spirit of Oblivion be free on how they want their character to develop.

4. In designing the module, the original Playstation game Final Fantasy VII will take PRECEDENT over any other source. This does include conflicting canon information, characters, design and graphical considerations and also the determination of the "look and feel" of the setting.

5. We will develop the module inside-out, this means that each of our major milestones will result in a small-scale but playable version of the game. After an area is completely done and playable, we will expand outward.

6. We welcome everyone who wishes to participate in making this a reality to join the team, assuming that basic rules of conduct and courtesy are followed.
--------------------------------------

Anyone who's interested can join the mod and help bring Midgar to life. We're particularly seeking modelers. Visit our forum for more information. :)

A new reactor is in the works! This mod has already gone through a couple.
Here was our first one. From the Morrowind days.

Final Fantasy VII: Mako Dawn, Mako Dusk

It was primitive. Hehe. Our second attempt was a bit better...

Final Fantasy VII: Mako Dawn, Mako Dusk

Not bad. But inadequate for the LOD we want to achieve.
We recently made contact with a modeler who has already built a truly amazing Midgar.
Take a look. :)

Killerx20 is our Midgar expert, now. Haha. He also shares our ambition of making an Oblivion Midgar. I'm in the process of adapting his meshes for the mod. I'm working on his reactors right now. With the new textures, they look excellent. Here's how they appear in Oblivion.

We've come a long way. :)
Ultimately, we hope to make the definitive Midgar recreation. Progress is still slow, though. With our current team, we can't expect a release in the near future. Its been a mostly solo effort. Anyone who wants to see Midgar is encouraged to participate. We'll continue grinding along. ;)

YES Fallout 3 is the engine we are going to use. It makes the mod a lot better, for instance, would you only want to battle Shin-Ra MP's using a bat or sword? Or would you rather take out a AK-47 and blow his head off? It would be weird just having everybody battle using swords, clubs, staffs etc. It supports everything we need.

Also it fits into the similar gameplay we are looking for and it is also of similar popularity to oblivion so widely available.

mehh, I guess it's a good reason to change to fallout 3, although I haven't seen it being confirmed, but I won't be getting fallout 3 anytime soon sadly.

Good luck on the project though. Love the whole thing so far.
