This mod changes completly the game experience, making it more inmersive and puting you in a new level of combat. It introduces a lot of stuff such as new weapons and characters, that you can use and have fun with. In a overall, it improves the game, making worth to keep playing it even when we have new titles.
The characters are very fun to use. They have a lot of different weapons that are all designed to be satisfying. Really shows you the potential of what is otherwise a pretty weak combat system in vanilla.
Version 3 is very fast paced, super comprehensive mod to SWBF1, utilizing many great features that are more like more modern games, that just copies over a standard install. This amazing work has earned a permanent seat in the Front!
I made a fresh install copy of vanilla BF1 and copied this over, as cloning my existing BF1 folder with all the other mods I had crashed Fero. If I were to say change anything, I'd say make it a bit slower.
The sounds and aesthetics of this mod are incredible - I'm glad he put the effort into changing them, as they are the best part of this. Crosshairs and some of the ingame UI changes are pretty cool and well done, and the units have a cool design. However, there are some mechanic issues with a couple units (sensitivity, camera angles, speed are off - exhibit A Reb Saboteur). For me, it plays a little too fast for BF1 - the characters are moving way too fast. In online play I'm getting teleporting (units jumping from one spot to another) with 130 ping - I know online play was one of his biggest features.
It is worth a try, just please be aware that you should copy your BF folder.
I had the pleasure of playing this during the beta and it is really well put-together. It changes the way the entire game looks, sounds and plays. If you want a Battlefront experience that does things differently, then go for Ferocious. I promise you won't regret it.
