What if Freeman weren't held in stasis during the portal storm that ravaged the Earth and caught the attention of the Combine? What if Freeman had a chance to prevent the Combine invasion from ever materializing? What if Freeman could reverse mankind's fate? Fate Reversal is a 10-map single-player mod for Half-Life. In the mod you come across a variety of locations (including cities and space stations) instead of spending the entire duration in the confines of Black Mesa research facility.

It's been a month now since Fate Reversal was released. I'm very happy with the feedback I've been getting so far. In retrospect the mod exceeded my own expectations even though I was getting pretty fed up with making it during the last few days of the development process.

Some issues have come up and I'm going to address the most critical ones now.

First, whether the game gets stuck once you have destroyed the Osprey on the roof seems to be a matter of luck. I should have built a backup system to make sure the script that is supposed to take you to the outro map kicks in about ten seconds after the Osprey comes down. For now you can get around this problem simply by reloading ("map katto") & replaying the map.

Second, some people get stuck between level transitions, particularly during the transition between the snow map and the first space map. I already addressed this problem in the readme. To ensure a smooth transition between levels, position yourself in the middle of the shuttle. Some have reported that the choppa from the snow map gets carried over to the space map. This happens if you don't destroy the choppa. I designed the map assuming the player would rather destroy the choppa than run away from it.

Third, the mod has no music. This is a very valid point and I'd like to fix it. The problem was that the track list in Worldcraft (I'm not using Hammer) doesn't match the Half-Life CD track list or the filenames in the Steam music folder. If anyone knows which track on the WC list matches which track on the CD, please let me know.

There are other minor issues as well such as missing autosaves. I might release a second version that fixes the aforementioned bugs but don't count on it:) Thanks for all the comments & criticism so far!

To fix the chopper in space bug just copple a transition trigger with the levelchange trigger.

To gain information about the sounds just insert your hl1 cd... launch ist normal from your shortcut on computer and compile a little testmap an hear what is what...

After that you can check the cd itself with vlc mediaplayer to gain the intel which track is on which number in WC.

Oh, somehow I had completely missed the trigger_transition entity but I'll check it out.

Checking the tracks individually is gonna be a hassle but I guess I have no choice:(
