THIS IS A PHOTO! NO CRYENGINE INGAME SCREENSHOT!
my girlfriend was today inside a old abondened russian military base here in east germany and she know what i'm doing and shot this photo for me :D
there are several identical rooms like that in a row, i'm sure this is the jail sector.
it's very intresting to get such real input for modelling and texturing :)
i also have visited another such base near my hometown and i can say that this jail is a very comfortable version, i have seen other ones which could by out of the movie SAW. ofcourse i have taken photos but i'm actually a little bit lazy to search for them, if you really intrested in, drop a comment here :)
I knew it was a foto the moment i put my eyes on it, ;) no game engine has reached that level of realism still.
Btw if you don't know this site is fantastic for that type of inspirations.
Opacity.us
I was thinking that this was in CryEngine 2, because the right-side wall is a bit flat, with no bumps etc.
But then I saw the garbage and the white bowl, lol.
haah, the right wall: would be looking better in cryengine than in reality :D
LIES!!! This is Quake 1 engine !!! XD Although I am pretty sure Cryengine 2 could pull this one off...
No it couldn't, not even Cryengine 5 could pull this scene realism, for that you need a raytracing or a pathtracing render.
I'm talking about the lighting the shadows the overall look and feel of this image, because otherwise this scene is not that complex has objects is concerned.
Cryengine 2 is very advanced....with good hi res textures, accurate normal maps, the right intensity and deepness of the specular maps, a correct strenght of the parallax maps this would come close...the lighting ia prezty good in Crysis(per pixel) so thats also good....not to mention the ambient occlussion...
i second that! i think it's possible without any troubble, and, to make a call: it's even possible in cryengine1.4 using the cold renderer, and the right wall would look better with normal and bumpmapping :D
I will believe it when i see it. ;)
would need ~4days and i dont have the time for :/
