Five Elite Mercenaries are send to an Island in middle of the 1980'. The Task: Find and Eliminate a local Drug Baron. Features: new Physic, real Sunmovement, Day/Night Change, Hunger/Food system, realistic (!) Weather system, Light/Dark viewing system for AI, 5 different Fractions on the Island. Complete Realistic simulation of nearly all things, including Sleep. New weapons, new Vehicles. Vehicles driving system is now exact (!) like GTA IV , FireSystem,... this mod is Heavily inspired by GTA, IGI, FarCry.

15 minutes do drive 26 km? Wow.
(Will there be any kind of fast travel? To drive so long time almost every mission will be annoying soon)

i'm thinking about. but its only needed one time in the level if you plan to leave that level. and that was the worst case, normally, if you are in the middle of the map, u'll need only 1 minute to the autobahn and than about 4-5 minutes i think.
choose a nice radiostation and cruise XD

its currently easier to achieve than the airport(s) in SanAndreas.

That sounds fine.
What about radios and their music?
1. Will every radio have specific music (r1: rock & roll, r2: jazz...) or there will be universal rados that play everything?
2. How about music. You use copyrightet/creative commons/or own music?

1.) there is ClearingRadio entity, can have 10 tracks.
each track will be a own station with own style.
2.) i plan to do the music by my own, depending on time i have.

release is depending on how much i have beside reallife / earn money / ...
but i plan to releaase a demoversion with the citymap and maybe a little first actionmap, where players can learn the gamemechanics and maybe find some bugs.
in next 2 months (i hope...)

due to some heave problems with terrain editor in farcry i have redone (three or four times) the landscape in the big citylevel. now i use a very different mesh-size, which results in:
-level is now 4 times bigger than before
-needs MUCH less memory, now it can run (currently) with 600-860 mb ram in low texture settings (before it was 1.2gb)
-no engine total crashes anymore due to heavy detail use of terrainmeshes
-i took 15 minutes to drive 26km on the map from a dessert village to airport and have seen only half of the map and 33% of the city.

cons:
-the nice mountains are gone, will have to model them with 3dsmax :(
