Five Elite Mercenaries are send to an Island in middle of the 1980'. The Task: Find and Eliminate a local Drug Baron. Features: new Physic, real Sunmovement, Day/Night Change, Hunger/Food system, realistic (!) Weather system, Light/Dark viewing system for AI, 5 different Fractions on the Island. Complete Realistic simulation of nearly all things, including Sleep. New weapons, new Vehicles. Vehicles driving system is now exact (!) like GTA IV , FireSystem,... this mod is Heavily inspired by GTA, IGI, FarCry.

i love the idea behind this mod, kinda in same way i loved the idea behind Stalker SoC, this mod has the potential of becoming THE game/mod of all, incl SoC which had THE idea but alas THE worst game engine of all times

hehe, wait, maybe the devkid engine will also break in pieces on other machines than mine :D the big fieldtest have to be done first :D

and i expect some heavy misunderstoodes, because my mod expect MUCH more CPU and GPU power than orignal FarCry, because i , hmm, slightly use a little bit more dense environment and totally different modeling and mapping techniques (just to achieve the look and feel i actually have ).

but thank you for liking the way how i see a FPS game have to be.

yw :) havent played any FC in years, but i will reinstall sooner or later, for sure :P But im on a budget puter with a 4 gb ram, will that prove adequate? And, if i recall correctly, one can reduce memory usage slightly by a cvar, dont rem it now but it "disables" any vegetation above a specified numerical value yes?

my mod needs about ~3gb memory, 1gb is for OS, 2 gb for the mod, so you be on the safe side.

farcry can't handle more ram :(

you can reduce drastically the ram usage by reducing the texture quality. its actually not possible to run the current map i promote with setting very high and ultra because than sooner or later fc will crash because of a 2gb memory limitation from the OS (and no, a 64bit OS doesnt help, there is a bug in the fc.exe which forbids to adress more than 1.86 gb / thread, and there is nothing i can do against that...)

maybe someone will also provide a non official stand alone version, so you don't have to install and patch FC first :D

sounds good! :D one thing i miss from FC, apart the incredible beautiful sceneries, is the awesome AI, sneaky merc bastards! lol :P ^^ If one removed all their constant yapping it would be extremely hard to survive even an hour :D

so i have bad news for you: i drastically increased their constant yapping :D but i removed the radarsignature points, so you can only play with your ears, and because they start to sneak and walk slow, you even did not hear their footsteps :)

but i inserted bush and vegetation contact sounds for them, its really nice if you lay below a bush, spotting some thing and out of NOTHING you hear a bush or grass behind you bending and one second later a yell comes from that position and BANG, 90% less health :D :D

and dont forget: this yell is used for teamcomunication, the other members of the acutal enemy squad knowd then your position and start to circle around your position, believe and thrust me: this is totally epic!

it's really a totally different gameplay without radarpoints :D this shifts stealth game play to a totally new level in far cry.

i dont mind "yappings" per se, but its a tad.... unrealistic IF whomever is yapping is doing it if a-hes all alone, and b-hes like 250 meters away ^^
