FCAM (FarCry Addon Mod) Full 1.5 (Takes up 1 GB)

This mods has been created using former and current works of others and myself. It has been changed and edited so it can all work together to form an addition to FarCry. Not only does this mod add to FarCry, it also fixes some major to minor bugs. See below for more information!

Below are some of the features that will be included in the mod:

-Enhanced Graphics
The textures are more noticeable especially when your view distance is increased; this is when this feature looks the best.

-64Bit Like Graphics
Atmosphere, this is what the 64 Bit helps with, creating better atmosphere (smoke, fog etc) as well as better performance.

-More Changeable Models
There is one more model that the colour of their jacket can be changed, like a standard model.

-Balanced Weapons
Weapons now act how they should, example, the AG36 would be better to take out someone further away rather than the M249 doing it all.

-CTF Game Type
There is now a Capture The Flag game type. Blue & Red must both attack and defend. This was going to be a standard game type, but didn’t happen.

-CTF Maps
A few standared CTF maps are included.

-Enhanced Effects
Sand now jumps up as it would. Also bullets when hitting metal, make a small amount of light as they also should.

-64Bit Enhanced Maps
64 Bit textures as well as 64 Bit atmosphere.

-Improved A.I
A.I Now prone and are not as dumb as they were.

-Improved Scripts
Some scripts have been imporved to function better or to function with more capability.

-Balanced Class Health & Armor
Grunt: Health: 130 Amour: 90
Engie: Health: 130 Amour: 60
Sniper: Health: 130 Amour: 30

-Optimised Game
This includes optimised game scripts which overall impove FarCry's performance. From your FPS to the key reaction speeds and even better pings!

-Hidden Bug Fixes
Internal bugs in the game code have been cleaned/fixed up.

-More Weapons With Single Shot Mode
The P90, AG36 and OICW all have single shot mode now.

-VBot Scripts
These can play FFA, Assault, CTF & TDM!

-Updated CryNetwork.dll
FarCry now works over Hamachi LAN.

-CAH Game Type
Basically an FFA version of CTF. Capture and Hold.

-TOH Game Type
Team of Hill. Must stay in a zone for a deticated number of seconds.

-KOH Game Type
Basically an FFA version of TOH. King of Hill.

This mod comes in 3 'parts'.
-FCAM (FarCry Addon Mod) Full 1.2
-FCAM (FarCry Addon Mod) 1.4 Patch
-CTF Map Pack (This is to be installed to the normal FarCry directory)

Hello

The FCAM 1.1 patch is soon to be released (thanks to Mixer for his optimised scripts!)

I will test the 1.1 version of the mod out soon and see what else might need to be fixed.

Cheers
Garcy

You should release comparison pics so that people can see what you have improved graphics-wise. Also, what is the point of this mod? The 64bit pack works on 32 bit operating systems if you install it. So unless this looks even BETTER than the 64 bit levels i don't see the point.

Thank You Salk & Lackoo!

Salk: Thanks for you feedback it is very useful when wanting to seek and fix errors. With the difficulty levels, it depends on how far you are through the campain and how far you went on the difficult level. E.g going from easy to medium you wouldnt notice much difference till you got further into the game.

Also with that bug you found, im not sure if i have the same problem but i will be sure to check it out and see if it needs fixing.

Cheers once again.

Hey Salk,

Im sorry i forgot to add the 'Read Me' in but i have made one ready for the 1.1 patch i plan to make.

What you have done so far is correct but with the 'Levels' folder it is important that you replace the one in the FCAM mod folder.

So:

FCAM - Goes in the 'Mods' main directory.
Levels - Goes in 'FCAM' main directory. (it will override but it wont remove the files in the foler (2 maps) but just add to them.)

Thanks for trying my mod Salk :)
Please give all feedback you wish to share.

Cheers

Hello garcy!

I have started the first level and the impressions so far are positive.

I am playing with all settings at maximum. The graphic is practically the same in my case (I would guess that most graphical improvement of your Mod are just the very same that come with the official Crytek patch for 64-bit system).

The bullets made the sand jump like you promised, good work.

The AI is now much smarter and I love that. I wonder though if the difficulty level still makes a difference? I played Normal first then Easy and the enemies seem to be equally challenging.

When I used the binoculars to hear the dialogue between the big guy and one of his man, warning him of my presence in the island, the soldier was missing his rifle for some reason. This is the only bug I encountered so far (but I didn't play much).

Keep it up and thanks for making this!

garcy,

I am getting some time to try your Mod.

Since I have no experience whatsoever with Far Cry modding and since there is no Readme file coming with the two downloads you have made available, I need to ask you how to install your mods.

I am trying them on a Windows XP 64 bit platform, patched to version 1.32.

What I have done so far is to install FCAM Main Files under the directory Mods (and I could successfully switch to it in game) but the other download (Main Levels) include a directory "Level" which I don't know if should replace the Level directory in the Far Cry main directory or the Level directory in the FCAM Main files.

Which one is it?

Thanks!
