It's not re-usable. Originally, it was going to be something you could use whenever, but you had to pay for fuel and ammo, but this is so much easier. You get 50 seconds of raining hell upon your foes for the fair price of 1250 caps :P
my point is that you buy it once and can use it again and again but have to wait some time between each use.....BECAUSE.....i dont wanna carry that much money especially money weights...and the more you wanna use it the more money you have carry with ya and the less stuff you can collect while going out
i dont mean the controllpanel........you said to use it you have to give 1250 caps eacht time......and 1000 caps weigh 10 pounds.....and i dont wanna carry about 100pounds of caps just to get some fun with a spooky
No, you don't understand. The control panel doesn't need caps, the air support terminal where you buy it does. You pay 1250 caps for the control module, then you can use that any time, free of charge :P
Each one is a one-time use, and the module is automatically removed from your inventory upon it's use. You can, however, carry as many as you want, and they weigh nothing.
Actually it was originally exactly 2500 Caps, but I halved the price of all air support, as a mini-nuke only cost 250 Caps, and that deals almost the same amount of damage.
There is, unfortunately, no way to get it to move on it's own, that I know of. It's unrealistic, sure, but a working AC-130 in a nuclear wasteland is already pretty fake, never-mind using controlling one from the ground.
Thanks Catman, and no, I don't have a model for it, it appears instantly, and it's first-person, so a model isn't needed, although it would be nice to have one leaving after you use it, and to have a short delay before use while the AC-130 flies into range.
Think it'll be moving around in circles up further in the air with zoom function? This is bloody amazing mate, I'd freakin' kiss ya xD
I think you could just spawn something that circles above the player, kinda like an eyebot that you can control? I think there's some lines of code for that flying about... I swear I've seen that ' control other entities ' before somewhere...
There is no way I currently can figure out to make the AC-130 move in any way. I was planning to have it flying an attack run (in a straight line), but even that didn't work. In reality, the "AC-130" is just the player moved up in the air, equipped with thermal and special weapons.
Hmmm, I would love to do something like that, tell me if you find a mod that does that. I really wanted the AC-130 to move, and to have to be called into the battlefield, where it would then circle for a while until you dismissed it, or it reached bingo fuel.
It's possible, but the problem is that if the player turns to look one direction, the AC-130 will turn as well, giving it the ability to turn on a dime.
Even though I hate to say this, I think there should be a HUD for the AC-130U that’s similar to Modern Warfare like a square or brackets with one dot in the middle. It would be like you’re controlling it with your Piboy and would be a little easier to use. (I accually can't stand Modern Warfare but this is a must have in game)
ive got a custom keyboard( i got it years ago when I used to play WoW) and the keyboard has extra buttons for other games instead of a numpad, so will it be possible to change the controls for the air support? or am i simply banned from using it? lol
oh btw, ive got a vague idea for making the player in the sky move lol.
Idk if this will work, im not a modder myself :
would it be possible to put invisible walls around the player and make them revolve around the players original position(and would be forcing the player to move around in circles with them)? Then I geuss there would be some way of attaching some sound file to the invisible walls(or to the player for the 50 second time limit for the ac-130) so that we get a droning sound like the plane engines?
I tried it using an invisible platform with disabling the player movement controls, but you forgot to consider one thing. The AC-130U's weapons fire from the player's feet... where do you think the invisible platform is? :P
As for the engine sounds, that's easy to add in, but I haven't bothered for two reasons:
1) I don't have a good sound effect for it
2) In real life, the operator couldn't even hear the engines, see this video: Youtube.com
Um, dude i was playing the other day and i seem to have noticed that when i click the console the ac-130 can be bought for free. but if you have caps it drains it all away even if you have 1 cap. I dunno if anybody else is having this bug.
uhhhm.. well.. im really sorry if im spending youre time s: but i found the player house terminals (thanks again) but.. the air support doesnt seem to exist? the only thing to click is back.. s: i think im lvl 12.. is there any special perks i need? i tried both at vault 101 and my house.. thought i would comment here if anybody else would have this problem.. (;
you should make it much more expensive if its reusable you should make it cost about 30000 caps

No, no, no, you buy the AC-130 control modules from your player house terminal, and they weigh nothing. This goes for all Air Support.
i dont mean the controllpanel........you said to use it you have to give 1250 caps eacht time......and 1000 caps weigh 10 pounds.....and i dont wanna carry about 100pounds of caps just to get some fun with a spooky

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah okey now i get it........do you have to buy a new one after each AC-130 pownage?

i agree with delta
but more around 20000
and non reusable 2500?
but yeah also make it move around as if it was floating but not mvoe it around yourself.

That thing is like OP, Love it!? O.o Im not sure even what to say about it...
Well, it's an AC-130! They're pretty over-powered in real life :P
I take it you're gonna start saving up the caps for it now? :P
even behemoths wont stand a chance now :P
looks great ;) can you actually see the AC-130U btw?

ever thought of making it player controlled but onley along the x-axis if that makes any sense :P, horizontaly i think its called

I agree. An HUD would be good, like this one: Youtube.com
The thing is that I have no idea how to make an HUD in Fallout 3.
remember this is Fallout 3 where talking about its not the most flexable game!
Exactly.

Well, I haven't added customizable keys into the mod yet, but it's pretty unnecessary, as you only have like 4 controls to use :P
I find the numpad/mouse setup works great for me, I think using my mouses special buttons to fire off the AC-130's weapons would be awkward.
lookin good slayer_2, cant wait for the final product.
Thanks sbseed, unfortunately, I think this is it for the AC-130, but it still works fine.
oh btw, ive got a vague idea for making the player in the sky move lol.

that sounds promising......

is it in any way possible to make the shells have no collision through the platform, while restricting the player?
I don't think so, although I can't say for certain.
I started playing V8 today and I bought one of these for use against the GNR plaza behemoth. That thing is amazingly over powered. I love it.
Thanks man, I love it too :D
Just wait until I get more support items added to the game, it'll be a bad day for the super muties.
And yeah, it is over-powered, but it's an AC-130, and it does cost over a grand, so it's fair enough :P
Um, dude i was playing the other day and i seem to have noticed that when i click the console the ac-130 can be bought for free. but if you have caps it drains it all away even if you have 1 cap. I dunno if anybody else is having this bug.
super mutan behmoths are toste now
Pretty much :D
OMG that mod is dead cool
Thanks :)
