Yep, all the soldiers use that now, including the BoS, Enclave and Outcasts. And yes again, that is the Vector .45 ACP. A very small clip, but it deals insane amounts of damage.

Definitely, it's everything V6 should have been. V7 is just the bastard child of V8, made solely to shut fanboy nubs up, and to be used as a foundation for V8.

I hope you'll play it sometime after it's release.

Yeah, pretty much. V7 is pretty boring and bland next to V6 or V8.

Sweet, glad to know I have a fan or two :P

A true follower, then :)

Version 7 and 8 are the latest generation of Fallout 3 Reborn, however, Versions 4, 5, and 6 were quite decent, if a bit buggy.

Honestly, most of the changes I do in the GECK aren't even with scripting, it's just a simple value change (such as weapon damage, or the looks of something). All you need is some basic knowledge, and a sense of what makes a game visceral and fun, without being so realistic that it sucks.

And don't worry about pestering me, V8 is done, but I'm gonna keep it for personal use until I verify it as mostly bug-free.

Yeah, I was an inch from giving up the GECK on my first few tries. If I hadn't found the official GECK tutorials, Fallout 3 Reborn never would have happened :|

I did make a simple start-up tutorial for the GECK, here: Moddb.com

It covers installing the GECK and making a simple weapon mod.

I agree, V6 is way better than this V7 BS, even with it's bugs.

I find that big pictures and simple steps help a lot with that :D

At least it will allow you to customize other mods to fit more with Reborn (regarding weapon damage, anyhow).

a question regarding the geck
how do you find out what you type to add the item in game?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

I wish I knew... Even I have no idea how to do that.

You could try reading this: Gamespot.com

Honestly, I only test my items by finding them in the wasteland, after I've added them in with my mod, so such a thing has never been necessary for me.

Hahaha, no problem :D

Just try things out (make sure to make lots of backups), and you'll learn as you go. You can also visit the official GECK site for some very basic help.

Yeah, it is a pain in the ***, I'm glad it is never necessary for my mods.

Description

Catman requested some pics of some Fallout 3 Reborn V8, so I snapped these quickly off of my current game. All the weapons are from the mod, the only other mods running are Enhanced Weather, the Sprint Mod and RTS.

The pictures demonstrate some of the new weapons/ammo, the new armor, and the compromise between greenery and the good old burned/irradiated waste.
