Fallout 3 Online is Multiplayer conversion of Fallout 3! Where you can do quests and DLC's with friends, go Hunting for Special Items, Trade with friends or just run around the Wasteland!
Players will be able to play with up to atleast 8 players. Many new features are also in the game which include:
ITEMS: Many new items will be Availible! such as:
Special Holiday items: From Christmas hats to easter bunny ears even the wasteland likes to celebrate!
RARE item Sets: many Rare item sets will be obtainible in game, but only by Fighting special Monsters who drop them!
MULTIPLAYER FUCTIONS:
Votes and commands: Players will be able to Vote kick, Vote ban, mute and RTD. Roll the Dice (RTD) will allow players to Roll for a Number out of 100 for a Special items. Who ever rolls the highest wins! but players will also be able to skip, if they do not want that item.
Pipboy My Friends! The Pipboy (and Game menu screen) will have a new Fuction Called My Friends!
As the name implies, you can add an other user to your friends list by typing their name. you can also view their Online/Offline Status and what level and Where they are.
The new V.A.T.S: VATS will now not freeze the game, but keep the game at normal speed but you can still aim and make excellent shots!
Party's: Players will be able to invite each other on a server to a Party, to allow sharing of XP.
New Buildings:
Our House: Our House is a Gib house right outside Valut 101 for all the players who are on ther server to rest, eat and store items in special locked safes! ( Dont worry no one will EVER be able to break these safes!) the house will contain:
2 Storys
kitchen
dining area
Bedrooms
Games Room (with a Nuka cola machine!)
Wastleland Warrior Arena: Challange another player in a battle to the death! players will first choose an item (or Money) from each of their inventory to fight against but must be worth more than a set amount. then they battle to the death! no VATS and no rules!
Tankers: Tankers are special areas where players will team up and fight very high level monsters and then a Final boss (or Bosses) and get Legendary Items!
WARNING: TANKERS ARE MUCH HARDER MONSTERS! DO NOT ATTEMPT ALONE!

your best bet is to either get tips from the dudes who made elder scrolls games mp, or just wait for the fallout online game to come out (sometime in the next few years).
this is possible using pawno scrit compiler i have done modding for sa online using this program.
if anyone can give me more info i can see what i can do,i also have other people that would be massivly interested in this that would be willing to help work on this.

This would be incredibly hard to pull off. As a modder, I know what I'm taking about here. It would be very interesting indeed, but Fallout 3 has no multiplayer functions at all, so all the netcode would have to be done from scratch. Good luck.
Hello mister naysayer, impossible you say? Incorrect. I think you should do some research into this type of project before. Both Morrowind, and Oblivion, games without any multiplayer functions at all, and both incidentally made by the same creators as Fallout 3, have had multiplayer mods that worked. Albeit buggy, and not THAT popular to be honest, but it is NOT impossible. Seriously go try and find the traces of Morrowind Online, and Oblivion Online :)
@invertus if you can't remember, they were incredibly laggy, had practically no interaction with the other player, and if anyone does it for fallout 3, VATS would not work properly, sleeping/waiting would be screwed up or disabled, friendly fire might make the game crash, (if it's like oo)and as InZanity said, he never said impossible.
