Morale Broken units in Dawn of War lose effectiveness, yet continue to stand in the open and get destroyed. Using this mod, broken units will flee to the nearest Strategic Point.

The squad will also automatically try to use any special Morale-boosting abilities while broken. This will boost squad morale, and may interrupt the movement back to the nearest SP.

In my opinion, fallback makes for more realistic battles, as broken troops usually run for safety. Fallback makes for more interesting battles, for example, taking a Control Point may require high-morale troops. And Fallback makes for cleaner battles, as the ineffective broken units are not cluttering the field and hampering movement.

Fallback also makes scouts and recon units more effective, as they will run back to base (for possible redeployment) instead of being destroyed in the wild the moment you take your eyes off them.

In the mockery of a codex they made for the orks, is says to roll 2d2 to determine mob size, if the roll comes up equal or less than the number of orks left in the mob. they keep fightin' anyway, because they're pretty sure they've got enough boyz. Perhaps in a later release you could twigger something like this?

Space Marines never retreat. They tactifully withdraw. Which really made me happy when they put that saying into the game. Space Marines follow orders. Simple as that. If they are told to fall back, they fall back, if they are told to advance, they advance. Orders, faith. Orks fight for fun. They can still break morale, but they are basically fearless on and off fluff. It takes a lot of shooting either way to break either's morale.

I always thought the battlefield psychology was one of Wh40K's strongpoints...

orks aren't fearless, they are aggressive...
and love a fight when they are winning
ain't no fun when the rabbit got the gun - right?

Space mraines are high-morale units , yes - religious fanatics (knights templar)

that just means they have pointlessly high morale, not invalidates the idea of morale.

historically, most battles are decided by morale...

Anyay, maybe someone can explain to me why a squad commanded by a force commander can still have a sergeant -

WHO RALLIES MY FORCE COMMANDER!!! ?

space marines can be compared to the knights of the old. those knights(long b4 us) died for their king and kingdom, they died so their comrads could prevail. fearless.

but space marines are so dumb they only know how to point and shoot just like the orks
if there so great why did they lose most of their technology?

I don't know how long ago this mod was added, so this might not even get noticed. But I would like to point out that from what I remember of Space Marine fluff from the table-top games; a Space Marine never retreats or gives any ground. Ever. So hopefully, this mod only applies to the other races.
