The Patch (3)
Oct 31, 2010 Patch 1 commentThis is patch number Three for Fairy Tale V10. This includes the latest updates, corrections and shiny stuff for Fairy Tale.
This Civilization IV mod places a number of Civilizations in a fairy tale world; a world with evil sorcerors, mighty trolls, noble and manly knights, nimble woodelves and hot babes in distress. Original? Bah! This ain't original in any way. No-no. Instead Fairy Tale shamelessly makes use of all common and well-known fantasy and fairy tale clichés to create a pot of humour, excitement and of course pure good old Civilization nationbuilding. This mod does not claim to be original or impressive, nor does it claim to be Fall from Heaven. It does claim to be fun and exciting.

A larger amount of mods for Civilization IV is currently supported.
To list them all, some prominent total conversion mods such as Planetfall (a take on creating an Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri's sequel), Dune Wars and Rise from Erebus, as well as smaller ones (Hundred Years' War) and those striving to create a feel of "unofficial expansion packs" - Legends of Revolution, Rise of Mankind: A New Dawn, The Ancient Mediterranean and Thomas' War.

Fairy tale doesn´t work furst I tried to update and still it didn´t work
the thing that is wrong is that when I load the mod the message don´t send comes up the only thing I can think of what´s wrong is that I have windows XP
Still love this mod; it's a nice departure from Fall from Heaven II (and Rise of Erebus)! <3
Thank you kindly, Chemical Attraction! This has developed into a team effort, actually, and I am not solely responsible for it anymore. That fact only has excellent implications, because in a couple of months I'll be starting Fairy Tale II myself (for Civ5), and although I'll be tied up with that, Fairy Tale 1 won't die off, but continue to be developed!
You once offered writing help and we're now looking for help on the Civilopedia, if you're interested. I have a notice on it on the FT CivFanatics thread. Come join us if you like, and here's the link to the notice. Forums.civfanatics.com
Does this mod not work with vista? because whenever I download the mod, the files are there but the code is not
Yes. This mod is even made on Vista and tested on Windows 7 too. Have you unzipped the files properly? Are you sure you have installed it to the correct directory? It should be in C:/Program/2kGames/BeyondTheSword/Mods (the installation folder on C:, where the game is installed). It should NOT be in the MyGames folder. Keep me updated on how it goes, and I will help you as good as possible. Have no panic; for all the files are there and ready to go, but I think you might have mistakenly put them in th ewrong folder.
it turns out that vista put the mods folder in a very odd place, and i was installing the mod to the wrong folder. it's all better now. thanks
Okay,
So I downloaded, installed and finally played- and I'm having a blast! I like the AI too- they don't just sit around and do the same things over again, I'm actually at war with two of the civs (the Dal and... Khek or something, they're both similar) because they disliked my religion and helping their enemies. I've never had an AI do that before.
Wow! Excellent! I am doing a game myself right now. I am also writing a story - or rather description - of it as I play. I do that when playtesting as it makes the tedious job of playtest much more fun. I publish it on CivFanatics, if you want to give it a look. Forums.civfanatics.com That must be the Elchers Clan you're talking about. They used to be very similtar to the drunken Dal, but I made the Elchers stand out a bit with better units and so on.
Well if you ever need help with some writing or other ideas (really, I'd like to think I'm pretty creative myself!) just drop me a PM! I can get you my MSN as soon as possible! Really loving the mod,
Just keep working at it!
And yes, the Elchers. Both the Elchers and the Dal absolutely hate me!
Thank you for your kind comments,a nd thanks for your offer to help. Nice to hear I'm not alone to like this mod :D And yes, I will be continuing to develop this. I'm not done yet. :)
