Extreme Realism mod 1.7 to 1.71 patch
Jun 11, 2009 Patch 4 commentsThis small patch includes a 32 and 64 bit version packed into a single zip file. This will fix the problem where you will crash to desktop when you try...
Welcome to the Extreme Realism mod. This is a single and multi-player modification. Being set in the same scenario as the normal game. The weapons are a lot better now and most of the sounds have been changed. Get ready to lock and load but just remember to stay behind cover. This mod will install into its own directory and will not disturb your original copy of the game. This mod will work with the Northern Strike add on and some of the unlocks for it have been edited also. System requirements: There are a lot of graphical effects that we added. May need to turn down effects if you experience lag.

Hello again community! We have returned to show you some deliciously high resolution renders of the new vehicles developed by our team that will be heading the North American Coalition war effort.
Before we get to the renders let’s get to some housekeeping changes;
Our New Home
If at all you visited our old forum (http://ddesigns.informe.com/) you'll notice it doesn't work.
We didn't set up a redirect and we apologize, but we'd like to tell you we still do have a forum, just in a new home.
A few of the artists on the ER team (particularly, Dr.Nick and myself) used to work on RTS games beforehand, and we often showed off some of our ER work to a CnC Community called Fallout Studios. After awhile I was approached and offered hosting for our mod due to how much we posted the content there, or at least the amount of WIP's for them. The opportunity was too good to refuse as it would mean a more popular forum and the opportunity to work around some talented folk.
Some of those talented groups and teams being: European Conflict, Core : Conflict Omega, and Asylum.
The ER Forum itself, along with some goodies we don't publish on our Moddb can be found here:
You can also find all of the above teams with their own Subforums at that link.
As you continue reading you'll notice we've had a bit of progress, and with this we'll be posting more frequent updates instead of the undetermined period of time until update charade.
North American Coalition: Vehicles
Onto the update itself, we have 3 vehicles to show you today! All with detailed interiors you'll see in the next update which will also be ingame screenshots, as opposed to glorified renders.
Firstly, we have the NAC Fast Attack Vehicle which was previously shown but has been textured since then.
Second is the APC known as the AIFV-7 Solomon, a change from the vanilla Roamanov and Groundhog. My personal favorite from this update really.
Thirdly, we have the 1-RN Phantom which takes its place as the NAC Gunship and was previously known as the Specter, but we decided on a change that was more fitting. Those of you who follow General/Zero Hour mods for Command and Conquer may notice an easter egg on this render.
The Future Of ER
What will be in the next update?
In our next major community update we plan to include more details on our new maps as well as gameplay videos from the test team showcasing new vehicles and other changes. By then we also hope to have another group of new vehicles ready for display. We should be able to expect the next minor update within the next few weeks!
Cheers everyone!

Lead Director of Public Relations, Texture artist and overseer for the NAC.

Full install patched till V1.7 of the extreme realism mod for Battlefield 2142. Just run the exe file once installation is done run the mod select multiplay/local/coop...

Can someone tell me how to proper install and play this even if the original files of bf 2142 arent at there normal location? I run the install and the patch but i can't only choose the game from the community side in my menu, and bf then gives me an error message after the intro are finished...
for 1.7 you need to direct the installer to the mods folder of your game, then a folder called Extreme_Realism_Mod which does not exist yet, but will be made during installation.
i;r%..battlefield 2142/mods/Extreme_Realism_Mod. (You can use windows explorer and go to your mods folder then copy and paste the address line into the installer and add /Extreme_Realism_Mod, or just not delete that bit anyway; pasting before it to be sure of the right name.
Patch 1.7.1 only needs as far as the game directory,
i;r%/battlefield 2142 to install
Hope this helps :)
Hey maybe you could put this idea into this mod or make a new mod just for this:
On the undersides of Titans in Titan mode, put two runways for bombers. Put only two bombers at a time. Make it so only 4 sets of five bombs can be used. They would have to have weak armor. You could use skins of bombers already in game. Also, if possible make it so explosion varies depending on how much ammo is left in bomber. Just an idea that I would do if I knew had to code like that...... -sigh-
Love this mod only, the one I watch eagerly for updates, but if i may put my 2 pence worth in, I was thinking about the APC shields. To be fair the apc isn't a sports car, and neither is it terminator, so against a tank, hiding is it's best option. Would it be possible to cloak? If so perhaps this would actually be better fitted to the Goliath thanks to it's power cells? Makes a change from shields all the time, which for the apc, isn't that useful
It may not be anti tank but I'll take it over a Walker for anti-infantry :|.
I would like to host this mod on my server. How can I get the server files.
Thanks
I got two questions: How does the whole medic revive thing work? Is it like vanilla where you are revived to full health and a headshot from a sniper rifle (and most explosives) is revivable?
Also, what differences are there between light and heavy armor? Is it also like vanilla where you simply get more sprint but slightly less health?
We're working on that.
What happened to the 1.71 server/servers? Me and my friends were looking forward to playing one day and the only ER server was the 1.8 beta server, which not all of us have. So will there be a 1.71 server again soon or will you wait until you get more server sponsors?
The server is online, you just have to go to advanced and deselect everything except the same mod button then it will show up.
