Excessive is a Half Life 2: Episode Two modification which development is oriented to be part of my game design curriculum, a small laboratory whre I can improve my skills. The rules I'll follow to make it are: - Only level design modifications: I'll only use Hammer to develop this mod, there will be no mew textures, models, animations or coding. - Each chapter will introduce at least one innovation to their predecessor: first map will be focus on color and lighting and its use to improve the gameplay, second map will focus on other theme,... Please note that the objective of this mod is to improve my curriculum and enjoying everyone who plays it so I'm making this page only for testing and distributing it. This is no a great mod, a large mod or a mod that will shock anyone.
Hello everyone!
As always, thank you for your support mates, is the best of game development. I know this version should be released before but I preferred to get something better.
Chapter 2 is almost finished! I've sent a copy of it to the people who sent me a review of Chapter 1, if you want to get your copy, send me a review of Chapter 1, you're still on time to do it! If you haven't reviewed Chapter 1, you'll have to wait until Saturday, 13th February. Of course, if you sent me a review and I haven't sent a copy of Chapter 2 just say it and you'll be emailed.
Those who send me a review of Chapter 2 will get early access to the Chapter 3 and level design documents I'm preparing for it.
In Chapter 2, strange things happens while you're trying to escape from someone who can send you messages directly to your brain. Chapter 3 will be focused on an innovative gameplay and I got some surprises for it, such as parenting tricks, different uses of color correction (shit! L4D2 makes it too), and more, but for now, here you got Chapter 2... unless you're not a betatester.
This mod got some changes in its development due to changes on my life... good news!
Excessive: Chapter 2 will arrive a week later. A ****** exam got the guilty, but here you got new screenshots and news about my little project.
As promised, we're on October and here you got the first two screenshots of Excessive: Chapter 2.

Ok... My reply thing is screwed up on this page. What I say now is what I mean to reply to on what bdg157 said...Why do you say that? I mean... Some could call tainted boring! So don't critisize everyone for no good reson!
K Carlos I emailed you my critisizms.
The mod was a very good start to it. VERY good.
The maps were astonishing and i still wonder how you made it glare like it did other than using bloom.
The puzzles were pretty obvious but can still be improved :)
Have you checked out the mod 'Research and Development'? That mod has TERRIFIC level design and Puzzles so i recommend that you check it out if you haven't already.
EDIT:
I'll be watching but not tracking.
Weeblenator. DID YOU FIGURE THE PUZZELS? I stood still in 5 minuits looking around for any clue. Jeez!
New iteration of the level will be available on 2 weeks!
Just played it and I have to say that the second puzzle was complicated and I died from the fire, so I gave up because you die so many times for reason(play and find out) which makes you have to start all over again. The mapping is pretty decent and the ambience in pretty nice. The one thing that stand out is that it's like Minerva. Anyway 6.5/10. Always room for improvement :) goodluck.
Tank you for playing and reviewing!!
