You fight again! To celebrate 10 years of Star Wars Battlefront II I'll be answering a question that I'm sure some have been wanting an answer for: will there be legions?
There will be legions, but not in the traditional sense. In Evolution of Warfare, you have to work your way up the ranks. Every player will start with a 'generic' army. Through success in different aspects of battle, you and your personal division might be offered a position on more prestigious divisions of the Republic or CIS. Accepting the offer will give the player extra benefits for each battle; however, becoming incorporated within a larger division of a Galactic army will result in a demotion, potentially turning the tide of the war in favor of the enemy. The choice is yours, make a name for yourself of fight for the best.
('legions' is a misnomer, as it is generally thought of as a clone specific thing. Droid armies also have opportunity for moving up the ranks)
Update on the waypoint and class system:
Players now have a number of squads (2-4) that they can guide individually to specific locations on the battlefront. Each squad has three different unit slots. There are five class slots that can be applied to a unit slot. This means you will have to be smart with your classes and which squads you are applying them to. It also allows for more strategy on the part of the player.
That covers what I'll be saying in this article, have a great day.
Sounds awesome! Can't wait to play it!
great news!
this is what i have always wanted for battlefront series,
more "mount and blade" and less "counter strike"
more about the scenario of the battle (with all the advantages or handicaps it may bring)
So we can basically have what is the equivalent of Delta Squad in Battlefront 2? Awesome!! Although I guess with the climbing through the ranks system it would be more like Domino Squad. Which is still awesome and makes me wonder whether you could "lose" squad mates although that would pretty much break the Battlefront experience.
This is awesome! I have only one issue though... How is this going to be implemented? I didn't think the BF2 engine was capable of such feats!
