Europe In Ruins is an award-winning multiplayer-only persistency mod for Company of Heroes. Choose a doctrine, build your company, and take command in a persistent warmap campaign. Lead your company into battle against other players, and take your troops from fresh recruits to hardened veterans!
For special performance on the EIRR warmap, it is possible to receive a special allied reward unit, a squad of elite US Marines.
These Marines are an equal match to the Wehrmacht Grenedier and can be upgraded with a bazooka, LMG, and grenades.
An M2? Really? The M2 was a HEAVY machine gun (firing .50 caliber rounds). I think you are looking for the M1919 .30 cal machine gun. It was more of a GPMG though. And the BAR was used as a squad automatic weapon.
It is possible to carry a M2 just probably not going to be as accurate. Only way I can see an M2 being used is if within the squad there is an mg team.
Yeah, definately a heavy mg, i can't contemplate how one would be fired from the hip, or any way other than on a tripod or pintle. It couldn't be done afaik. Not only the size and ridiculous the weight of the gun and a 100rd belt of .50 BMG, but there's also the recoil the exactly how the weight lifter weilding it would manage to hang onto the spade handle grips in such a fashion to press the trigger. The M2 didn't have the pistol grip handle and conventional trigger of the M1917 and M1919 MGs.
It looks like your using the M1919a6 MG in the image, which was made some time ago by Loran Korn (if i remember correctly), and was a GPMG designed to fill both roles of a MMG fired from a tripod, and a LMG fired from the hip or bipod. Could it be you meant the M1919a6 and got your information mixed up?
Surely you don't actually mean to add the M2, after all, you'd not only have to make a new model from scratch, but it'd be either horribly overpowered (able to shred infantry, cover, and light vehicles), or nerfed to the point that it'd be more accurate to simply call it some M1919 variant.
It's the 1919a4 according to the EIRR attrib.
If it really really really bothers you guys that much, I will change the caption.

I thought the USMC didn't have a role in the European theater?
@ Silvermarch
EIRR has always been a "what if" type mod. We give ourselves latitude to allow players to experiment with their company builds and have them use their imaginations without turning the mod into an "alternate timeline"
The way reward units work is that they are limited, they are rare, you dont see too many and they are going to be prizes for playing the warmap.
It doesnt really matter if Marines were never in the western theatre under this pretext.
Okay, makes a lot of sense. Sorry, I was just confused.
