why so many Tanks? i mean u get in doctrine
Tank wars mod I think
well in my opinion, the more tanks the bloody better xD
Nice , now we have Aircraft rockets on Tanks
I think the allies got a bit desperate.
They were in desperate need for more Firepower because their guns were partly useless against our Med and heavy Tanks :). fired from above this Rockets were a deadly weapon , also Tigers were victims of that . Hope to test soon how it works in game
I dont think that that thing was ever used in combat. At least i have never heard of it, not even as a secret weapon in thee archives. It is a good idea though, although i recon that it would be a pain in the a*s to reload it :P
I think it was used at the Rhine crossing and onward.
And how the hell was it possible to hit anything from 1 Km+? Because less then that it would be useless since the 88mm cannon had a range of 3 Km's. With no giudence system, this rocket is of no strategic value, just like the V1.
Its a direct-fire weapon, and the 17 pounder on the tank in that picture is about equal to the eighty eight.
The 17 Pounder wasnt as badass as MoW and CoH depict it is. The Shell quality wasnt that good and there was high probability it could bounce of from even "close" range in terms of tank combat,(1000m) and plus, as i said before, nothing the allies had could mach neither the accuracy, nor the range of the Flak 88mm.
While you go on about the Tiger's maximum range, which is only obtainable in Africa(where a platoon was knocked out by 6 pounders) or on the Russian steppes, it is very hard to find locations where one can see 3Km. The Tiger's armor was only about 100mm, at a 90 degree angle, isn't going to stop much besides the low velocity 75mm of the Sherman. The Tiger's 88mm L/56 had about 145mm of armor penetration, but this degraded due to destruction of German steel plants, which forced use of low quality steel. The Pershing is superior to the Tiger in most every way, except long range accuracy, which the 90mm M3 lacks. Also, FlaK 36/37 =/= 88m L/56
Degraded quality Steel was used during Tiger2 production not in Tiger 1 , the Tiger 1 was one of the highest quality Tanks because of that fact Tiger1 production was so time consuming and this Tank was sooo expensive!!!
Its only a Field Modification i think, this combination was used otherwise Dragon or italerie will not made a Modell of that type in the 90s. When used from aircrfaft like Typhoon or Tempest this Rockets were aimed with normal Gunsight so accuracy can not be so bad
There is no company of heroes map that even has a clear view of 3km so the whole tiger 88mm superiority argument dosent work.
You forgot about VanAdrian =)
Will it be available in classic matches?
yes
tell me they did not just lunch that panzerfaust rocket with its tube lol
even the author came to fashion
