Europa Barbarorum is a modification of Rome: Total War based on the desire to provide RTW players with a more fun, challenging, realistic, and historically accurate game experience. Europa Barbarorum is a total conversion, though it covers roughly the same time period as the imperial campaign included with RTW.

The modification affects all areas of RTW; all vanilla units have been removed, all new models and textures, a new economic system, new traits system, new scripts, and in general new gameplay. No area of RTW is left untouched.

1.2+fixes are strongly recommended, they improve and fix 1.1; so be sure to install them both.
If you start EB using Trivial Script (with 'EB-Singleplayer') change the MinimalUI in the settings dialog, if not open \EB\preferences\preferences.txt and change MINIMAL_UI: to FALSE

1.3 is not yet released.

No, 1.2 is not savegame-compatible.
Trivial Script doesn't change anything in the game and is in the 1.1 installer.

It would be unfair to compare the work of others here, they could not present themselves. Therefore the EB-Team does not want discussions like this here. Thank you for your understanding.

If you want to know about the features of EB, the EB-FAQ (http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=84854) is a good start, also the old previews are still available (http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?51037-All-the-previews-in-one-thread!).
