In what may be the quickest follow-up news post in this mod's history, I'd like to point out a few articles that have featured Eternal Silence over the last couple of weeks. We've been getting a nice surge of press recently, and it's sure to help the player population stay afloat as we work on Eternal Silence 3.2.

First off, GameShark.com has featured Eternal Silence in its first Monthly Mod Focus. A nice review was posted along with some screenshots.

Dave wrote: “What makes this mod stand out is how well the space combat has been implemented. Combat is in full 3D, and feels a lot like the classic Novalogic game, Tachyon thanks to the Newtonian physics implementation and the “Cut thrust” button that can be held down to drift in a given direction, allowing you to strafe targets with ease. This leads to some terrific space battles that make you feel like you’re playing the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica, juking and dodging between missiles and gunfire, while trying to line up that perfect salvo against your opponent.

Dave wrote: “Things are even more interesting when taking into account the different types of spacecraft available, ranging from single-seat fighters and interceptors, to heavy bombers and gunships that have optional gun turret seats for multiple players to ride in. The developers even went to the length of implementing a custom joystick axis-binding system, to allow hardcore enthusiasts (such as myself) to set up their overpriced HOTAS configuration with ease – but don’t let this set you off too much, as spacecraft are still very flyable with a basic mouse and keyboard.”

We've also gotten a lot of attention from Germany. ES has been featured in a PC Games magazine in Germany (sadly I don't speak German, so the specifics elude me). Michael Z. has posted information in the forums. We are also scheduled to be packaged in October edition of Computer Bild Spiele.

Thanks to all the press for covering us so nicely!

I'd also like to re-iterate that WE NEED MAPPERS to complete more exciting Eternal Silence scenarios. Check out our Join the Team for mores details. Great opportunities are on the horizon for members of the Eternal Silence team, so join up now!
