Content Progress

Content is the single biggest task that we will undertake for Act II, and the team has been slowly building Act II out from where Act I left off. Our story begins after the fisherman falls through the rotten floor of an old wood shack, and picks up again where he lands in the rocks below the Arque West facility.

As a team, we have many commitments - some of us have jobs, some of us are studying towards final qualifications. Act I garnered no income, so Act II has always been and will always be a hobby project. A few people have asked us what is happening with Act II, and when it will be finished. In the future we hope to do a better job of communicating those ideas with the community, and we are still working hard on continuing where Act I left off.

Technical Progress

TnSmLGgFor Act II, we have decided to switch away from the Source Engine, towards Unreal Engine 4. Unreal Engine 4 provides a very flexible platform to author content for a range of platforms, and allows us to realise our plans for Act II. It is updated frequently, and has an active community monitored by its developers which provides technical assistance amongst other great things.

Content authoring for Source Engine wasn't easy, and it was difficult to author more advanced features for Act I without access to the engine code from Valve - which unfortunately for us is not something we can get access to as a free game.

Excellent mod. I particularly liked the varied gameplay, additional graphical features and environment design. One of my favourite mods, and a mod I will be replaying again.

There aren't enough single-player mods out there, especially not good ones. Thanks for making an excellent addition and I look forward to Act 2 (whether it is paid-for or not).

You got rid of all the small things like getting water and stuff.

Why?

I felt like just being given a gun immediately as I get to the house is kind of bad pacing.

I know the water thing was a bit glitchy (specifically the zombie), but small things like that make the game longer and... it's just sentimental.

It also help even out that feeling of "why was I just trusted with a gun for no reason".

You can definitely tell there should have been something there.

I have not completed this game yet.

I like this game so far. I see it pays homage to various games like Half-Life and Mirror's Edge (similar set pieces/map elements).
The aesthetics are excellent and the map design is of a high quality.
Would love to see more works from them as soon as I finish this.

Just finished the game in one session and it was great! Very good mod with a great atmosphere and lovely easter eggs!

Nicely done! Haven't finished it yet, but it's entertaining and engaging enough. Some parts remind me of Mirror's Edge in the way they look and feel (which is good! because I love Mirror's Edge).

Hope you keep developing this. :)

hi. i was wondering, did you alter the games graphics or something, because in the beta, it played fine. Now its a little choppy, and the mouse is lagging too (moves kinda smoothish).

This was an awesome mod. A few minor things like a crowbar on the ceiling, but i guess thats me not liking a slight challenge, i just spend like 20 mins chucking the rocks at the boards, enjoying the story so far and cant wait till a more complete story comes to light.

Keep up the good work and cant wait for the new weapons coming.

P.S. Im loving them Custom Barrels!
