We're excited to announce that to date, Estranged: Act I has had over 167,000 unique players worldwide since its release in January. We are immensely proud of how Estranged has been received by fans all over the world, with masses of playthrough videos and feedback given to us on the forums and here on ModDB.

Today we'd like to officially confirm that Estranged: Act II is under development, and will be the next instalment in the Estranged series, continuing on from where Act I left off. As we promised in a forum post back in January, we can also confirm that Act II will be a paid-for title.

Join the Team

The Estranged development team is continually looking for volunteers to contribute to the next instalment in the Estranged series, Estranged: Act II. Do you have experience designing levels, creating 3D set pieces or designing characters? We're looking for volunteers to join the project at this exciting stage of development - we would love to see your existing portfolio work with any game engine on any platform.

If you are interested in joining the team, please email volunteer@iamestranged.com. Be sure to include existing examples of your work, and any projects you have worked on previously.

Hmm this looks very good. But wouldn't you consider maybe having different models for the zombies? I'm just saying, but I don't know if you guys already thought of that by now. With the dynamic shadows and the amazing level designs. You guys should atleast modify the zombies to make it even better. I'm going to download the Alpha and see the gameplay. Over all I already love the mod just by seeing it It looks very nice keep it up and make custom models for the weapons!

Haha, I started working on a new infected human model for the mod a few days ago. Hopefully you'll still be around when we get those out there. ;)

Oh definitely man. I'll follow you guys. But are you thinking of changing the weapons as well? It's nice to add some new weapons for this mod. I just get tired of seeing the vanilla weapons since I got used to playing mods that have custom weapon models for it you know? haha

The mod is pretty much evolving in an organic fashion. So we're not sure what it will look like in the end, we do try to make it a satisfying experience of course. :)

Use the SMOD Tactical aiming, like used in Underhell where your gun actually moves to where you aim and without a reticule.

But really bad, what author making with maps: Lots of useing Point_spotlight it's really looking bad, if map have MANY Point_spotlight.

So if u played in BF3 u can saw some light's have a big sprites and looking realistic, i see you can make custom texture, so why not make realistic sprites?

On the other hand:

Mod rly looking nice, u making great job AlanEdwardes!

This was an awesome mod. A few minor things like a crowbar on the ceiling, but i guess thats me not liking a slight challenge, i just spend like 20 mins chucking the rocks at the boards, enjoying the story so far and cant wait till a more complete story comes to light.

Keep up the good work and cant wait for the new weapons coming.

P.S. Im loving them Custom Barrels!
