Estranged is a work in progress mod that tells the story of a lone fisherman whose ship is stranded on a mysterious island during a violent storm. Explore the rich environments and meet the curious inhabitants of the island as you find a way back to the mainland. Face both danger and intrigue in this perilous adventure, where you will soon find that not everything is as normal as it seems...

Most of the below won’t make sense unless you've played Alpha #5. What? You haven’t? WELL GET OVER TO THE DOWNLOADS AND DOWNLOAD IT THEN! (And tell us what you don’t like about it so we can make it better.)
Below is the new stuff we've been working on this month for the next Estranged release.
Maps
Oliver has revamped the start of The Outlet, and Chris has been working on a whole bunch of new materials and models for the revamped areas.
The starting area of The Outlet has had a complete makeover, featuring new scenery that ties in better with the rest of the environments.
Alan has been working on the first level, and the first character now has a beautiful vegetable patch, complete with a melon in a wheelbarrow. Beyond his place, you can find a calm stream of water that will lead you to your next destination.
It almost makes you forget the apocalypse.
Menu
Alan has also been working on rewriting the menu, working towards trying to give Estranged a less Half-Life 2-y feel. That’s not very exciting, so here’s two screenshots. It’s shiny and new!

This was an awesome mod. A few minor things like a crowbar on the ceiling, but i guess thats me not liking a slight challenge, i just spend like 20 mins chucking the rocks at the boards, enjoying the story so far and cant wait till a more complete story comes to light.
Keep up the good work and cant wait for the new weapons coming.
P.S. Im loving them Custom Barrels!

o ish that looks good
its good
I Dont know why but as I played this mod I released something. This mod really reminds me of "They hunger".
Truly truly fascinating mod
I swear I have never seen something like this before
What I like about modern game developers, although their games are very linear and straight forward they are not greedy to include many ideas for a single playthrough (rocking chair to escape was awesome idea)
The example of opposite is Call of Duty, dumb game, just shut up and shoot everything... That's it
I really loved Estranged. The music , the atmosphere...everything was amazing. One thing I would like to see on the full release is probably a new crosshair or no crosshair at all because I kinda feel like the default HL2 crosshair is kinda taking that feeling away.I personally used the "crosshair 0" command while playing and I have to admit the whole experience was really great. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for the final release.

I feel dumb for not noticing that :P
oh don't feel dumb. That's in Alpha 6 ;) I just added it.
Oh cool :P
I'm glad to report to you that most of the issues you brought up have already been dealt with. ;)
As for the player legs thing. We tried it out a few weeks ago, it was pretty cool but it would require a bunch of extra tweaks that we don't really want to focus on at this point. Maybe someday but probably not for Alpha 6. ;)
