Estranged is a work in progress mod that tells the story of a lone fisherman whose ship is stranded on a mysterious island during a violent storm. Explore the rich environments and meet the curious inhabitants of the island as you find a way back to the mainland. Face both danger and intrigue in this perilous adventure, where you will soon find that not everything is as normal as it seems...

Most of the below won’t make sense unless you've played Alpha #5. What? You haven’t? WELL GET OVER TO THE DOWNLOADS AND DOWNLOAD IT THEN! (And tell us what you don’t like about it so we can make it better.)
Below is the new stuff we've been working on this month for the next Estranged release.
Maps
Oliver has revamped the start of The Outlet, and Chris has been working on a whole bunch of new materials and models for the revamped areas.
The starting area of The Outlet has had a complete makeover, featuring new scenery that ties in better with the rest of the environments.
Alan has been working on the first level, and the first character now has a beautiful vegetable patch, complete with a melon in a wheelbarrow. Beyond his place, you can find a calm stream of water that will lead you to your next destination.
It almost makes you forget the apocalypse.
Menu
Alan has also been working on rewriting the menu, working towards trying to give Estranged a less Half-Life 2-y feel. That’s not very exciting, so here’s two screenshots. It’s shiny and new!

This was an awesome mod. A few minor things like a crowbar on the ceiling, but i guess thats me not liking a slight challenge, i just spend like 20 mins chucking the rocks at the boards, enjoying the story so far and cant wait till a more complete story comes to light.
Keep up the good work and cant wait for the new weapons coming.
P.S. Im loving them Custom Barrels!

looks cool tracking it now
It was really nice.I really really loved that chair scene. It was great.
Game seems a lot better now and flows more smoothly. The train section looks really great now. Like the ability to sprint, but would love a melee weapon to thump those zombies with if I have to. Love the ammo and health supplies in the signal box and there’s a dolly to! This mod has the right colouring and sounds to make it feel really creepier than it actually is.
Only issue was a disappearing gun in the sewer level, just after entering from the road tunnel, and then it returned briefly and then vanished again. Its function was still there and I could see the crosshair and fire. Nice ending!
Thanks! The disappearing gun is something loads of people are reporting. I think it might be because it's designed to be used with Gordon's suit in HL2, so what I'm doing with it is naughty and wrong and the engine doesn't like it. Will investigate.
Seems interesting , Tracking !
it's an awesome mod, can't wait for the final version
