UA is getting close to having it's next patch released. AI will be improved significantly and Sisters will be having loads of new content. The patch afterwards is where I plan on polishing the Ultimate Apocalypse as much as I can and for this polishing project, I plan on apocalyzing the vanilla maps even further.
By this, I mean there are problems with the vanilla maps that make them hard to play on UA as it is. The layout makes the space for bases very limited and water on maps causes units to cease firing attackers. To fix this, I'm taking each map and widening the terrain for better space management (especially for the ai) without removing too much of the map's design and detail. Critical locations, relics and slag deposits will also be on every map since each of them has a purpose in gameplay.
Water will also be removed. As sad as that may sound, units just don't target enemies on higher terrain when they're in water, part of a consequence ua has with it's mapping. As for the skyboxes I've made, I'm giving each map their own personal skybox to replace most of the dull lifeless skies the old dow maps had to begin with. I'm hoping to give lots of personality to the maps for better gameplay and visual appeal.
