Anyway, as you guessed, zombie mod yay!
This mod is called Epidemic and is somewhat loosely (VERY loosely) based on all of George Romero's works (i.e. Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, etc.) but it's overall mainly focused on the one-small-group-against-entire-population-of-zombi
es idea.In fact, the only thing that is being implemented is the mall since I <3 it so much.Anyway, you'll be taking the role of one of several citizens remaining in the city of Camarillo, California.That's right, just regular ol' people.So you come home from work one day, get some good sleep, yadda yadda, the: morning.As you stroll into the kitchen to get yourself a nice cup of coffee to start the day, you hear some knocking at your door.Who could it be at this ungodly hour?You peep through the window of your front door and realize that it's Steve, your next-door neighbor.So you open it up, but something's wrong.Steve is a mess, his hair matted with blood and an apparent mortal wound to his throat and a large amount of smaller wounds.Before being able to ask him what's wrong, he goes at you in an animalistic rage.He chases you to the kitchen and you finally end his assault with a kitchen knife to the temple.

As you examine him more closely, you realize that his blood has quagulated, which means he must have been dead long before the assault.You figure you'll drive to the police office but as soon as you step outside the real truth reveals itself--the world has reached an utter end.All around you, you can see friends,families, nieghbors, and even people you've never seen fleeing for their lives from people who appear to be in the same state that Steve was.As you stare into the smoke filled city, you manage to gather yourself and amongst the blood-curdling screams of others, explosions, and somewhat peaceful nature sounds, head out of your home to find something to protect yourself.Could it be at your own home?Someone else's home?A store?Yes, the Gun Shop in Old Town Camarillo, a rather poor community area within the city itself.Problem is, it's on the other side of town!

Pitted against hordes of wandering undead, it's your job to seek refuge,protection,food, and water.Along the way you may meet other survivors but beware, not everyone can handle being in a situation such as this and might snap at any given moment, posing yet another threat even more eminent then the zombies.In this mod, you will be supplied with bludgeoning objects, small arms, home-made devices, and maybe a shotgun or two but that's it.Sorry to upset all you shoot em up fans out there, but remember these are regular people in a suburban area.They aren't some trained military force with machine guns and rocket launchers.

This mod is aiming towards realism as well as it can, going from HL1 and will be updated to HL2 when the STK comes out.Amongst the features we wish to implement are:
-limb damage system.
-weight system
-fear factor system (i.e. get scared? you're hand will start shaking hindering your aim)
-realistic weather conditions (fog,rain, you know, the works)
-stamina system (which goes arm in arm with the weight)
-the classic zombie killer: Now this isn't really a real thing, beause zombies don't exist.However, the point of this implication is to make you only able to kill zombies the traditional movie style --gunshot or blow to the head, burnt, or blown to pieces
Also, to spice things up a bit these zombies won't saunter around all slow and decrepate-like, the can run, climb (to some extent) jump through windows, knock down doors, and a few other goodies if we can actually code this stuff in
-weapons system-guns will have a chance to jam up, break, or even backfire (on a very RARE and unlucky occasion).Also, you can pistol whip and beat zombies senseless with your guns!Splendid fun!
-"you can't find what you can't see"-HIDE!beds,lockers,closests, boxes, the works.Crawl, climb,peek your way past zombies if you're low on ammo/life and don't want to get their attention
Well, that's it for the ideas right now.All I can think of off the top of my head.

As for gameplay, it is going to be simgle player/multiplayer, and if we can, coop.
The multiplayer games will include some of the following mini-games:

Last Man Standing:Everyone is pitted against each other to survive.Zombie bots rome the map and seek out anyone still living.If you die, you join the ranks of the undead and hunt the living..so on and so on until of course, there's one man left.

Ship race-Good news!You heard there is a ship in the harbor to get out of this godforsake area!Bad news...only 4 people can fit on it.Fight your way amongst each other and make it to the boat before the other bloke does!

Food Scramble- A great idea from the movie Dawn of the Dead, each player takes turns running down into the zombie filled street, unarmed, with a ham sandwich to give to poor old Andy across the street.Run like a bat out of hell, or die.

Back, and ready for action.

Hello everyone,

I have a tale to tell. As some of you may know, I started this project some time ago. Well, after progress was continously slow for awhile, and I became busier with outside activities, the mod went into a haitus. Well, now we are back and better than before. Over the course of time, I have picked up character modeling. Also on the team is PoS_Toaster, who has taken the role of coder. Also joining the ranks are two riggers/animators, fur_lcl and cannot_thnk_str8. On sounds and some music are CaimWAP and SpiritofIgnition. Work has restarted as of a few weeks ago, and currently we have complete the Ladysmith in-game, as well as the M9 Bayonet. Tthe Mossberg, SV-98, and molotov arebeing animated and coded into the game. Also, Toaster has coded a 3rd person perspective and is working on a jam function for our weaposn, so stay tuned in for that department. So, for those of you who are interested in seeing what's been going on, stop by the profile and check out some of the new media, it will become greater with the passing of time no doubt and I am glad that we are back in action.

Well, I can assure you that this mod is not dead. Progress has been slow since alot of us have what I like to call "lives" outside of the computer. I myself have been working almost full-time and just got back from a week vacation. The map is getting scraped, mostly because the guy is unable to finish it and I myself don't like the quality.

Rest assured, I'm pulling things together with the addition of a coder and another character modeler other than myself.There's a saying, it's called

"Patience is a virtue"

i hav always said if i was to make a game it would be dawn of the dead were u hav to survive by barracading ur self in shopping centers and other places... the point of the game would be to out survive the epidemic and this looks like it is pritty close to what i said!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!!
