Epidemic mod for Half-Life 2

ok ok! movies! I understand! zombies never existed anyways! But it's games and movies we're talking about, so it's ok! sheesh. by the way viruses KILL cell by cell, not change it. cell's retain it's normal functions until the virus that are reproduced in it breaks the cell open and look for other cells for hosts to reproduce in. we're talking about killing cells as a result of the virus' reproduction, not physically cutting blood from your brain thus stopping nutrients from supplying it.

It's good that the 28 days/weeks later virus is in this. It would be extremely scary. I'd like to imagine ravenholm with those kind of infected in there. "Your walking down a corridor unaware that an infected human is behind the door, you open the door slowly realising it is too late to close the door. It bursts open with a screaming thing trying to impale and bite you. As it spues blood and human flouids all over the sorrounding area. You in a desperate attemp to save yourself dislodges a curtan pole in enough time before the zombie may recover from the fall. You hit it once and it howls in apin. As you finish your 5th strike at the infected person it gives in and dies in front of you."

well im a huge resident evil fan and love the idea of how it was developed, but i also like the rage in your blood tearing out your eyes violent side of 28 weeks/days so i want to combine it, the virus was created in a lab and has the effects of the "rage" virus, but also we are going to have some very grotesque monsters in game too, unlike anything you will seen anywhere!

No virus known in existance can turn people into a zombie, but movies have viruses that can. So whats to say that a virus so powerful wouldnt be able to turn a person into a zombie within 1 minute. When a person has blood circulation cut off to their brain, their brain tissue starts to get permanantly damaged within 3 minutes, and the only reason they last that long is that because they are trying to breathe and still getting SOME air in. A person can be put unconcious from choking them, within 10 seconds, that is less than 10 seconds for the air to be cut off from the brain, and a few seconds for the person to go without air before they give in.
That is just AIR. This is blood, this is a virus, it pumps through your body at a very fast rate, and is more than likely stronger than any cyanide pill or injection to exist today, so 1 minute is actually kinda slow for a person to turn into a zombie from getting blood in their eyes or being bitten.
Of course that is just the way I see it.

The fact is, nobody knows EXACTLY how a zombie virus works. So how can you say that 1 minute to be infected would not be the case?
Yes I understand you are talking about the difference between a infection/virus and poison. But what is to say that this virus isn't as strong as a poison like cyanide?

im combining areas to make it more realsitic, infectious virus like the one in 28 days later where contact with blood or body fluid causes the spread and contamination is what im going for, one of the enemies will be a creature that will spew blood at you in an attempt to infect you, whilst smashing its way through an office block that you are trying to escape...... just a quick idea what im trying to do :)

yeah but 28 days later's got a form of systematic way of isolating from the virus. and it doesn't make sense because a virus can't infect and change a person into a zombie in like 1 minute. it's more like a poison.
