Most people say their mods are going to be revolutionary or will be something great. Most mods now a days promise everything, and swear that it will be the best mod. Most mods it seems are just mere knockoffs of other great mods, or are Counterstrike clones. We used to be one of those mods. The bad thing about being a gamer in general is that you play one game that everyone likes, and then there are suddenly a million different incarnations of the same thing. Originally, we were setting out to create a remake of Quake. Sure, it sounds like a good idea, and would probably be pretty fun, but we quickly realized that if we were going to get anywhere with this thing, we'd have to make it our own. Shortly afterwards, Epicenter was born. At that point our mantra was basically "Quake...but better". I wanted every concept to have the feel of Quake, to have that grit and that character.
