Sins of a Solar Empire is often described as a 4XRTS game, or a game that tried to merge the action and tactics packed gameplay of a Real time strategy game with the deep, complex, empire wide strategy of a 4X turn based game. It's up to debate whether Sins succeeded in this goal, but I think all can agree that of the 4Xs of "explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate", Sins is much more focused on the exterminate than on the others. This mod seeks to give more depth to the other 3Xs of the game by adding additional game elements or refining the existing ones to reward players who give more strategic thought to the non-combat side of the game. Combat will still be the center point of the game, but players will find that the non-combat options available will be much more rewarding. Spying, exploring, sabotage, diplomacy, culture, and economic development have all been added or changed in innovative new ways. Regardless of what you think Sins is, this is the 4XRTS it should have been.

Hey,
i'm new to this so this might just be me failing at installing the mod or something dumb , but whenever i enable E4X and apply changes sins crashes on the E4X splash screen. with this message "an error has caused sins to stop working correctly. a report on this error has been logged for the developer."

the checksum i get is 28526130, i dont know what other information you need but i'll gladly give it, i'm really looking forward to trying this mod.

-thanks a million^^

Hmm, that checksum is right for the 1.5 version. It shouldn't be crashing on startup but you'll probably want to get the 1.501 hotfix patch that will save you a headache by fixing a crash that could be caused in game.

Can you confirm/tell me the following things?

1. Are you running Sins Rebellion version 1.1?
2. How much RAM do you have and what are your graphics settings? Sometimes reducing your graphics settings, especially if they are on highest, can help.
3. What is the file size of the mod folder? Perhaps a file that doesn't change the checksum got corrupted and is causing crashes somehow.

I have a similar problem. When I select the mod and apply, a splash screen E4X loads a few seconds and then i get too the error message saying "an error has caused sins to stop working correctly. a report on this error has been logged for the developer."
I have a checksum 30281256 and game versions rebellion 1.03.4243.
I'm looking forward to trying this mod out.

I'm afraid E4X 1.6 is only for Rebellion 1.5-1.52. You'll need to update the game to the latest version via Steam. ;)
