Enderal - The Shards of Order is a total conversion in development for Skyrim and the sequel to Nehrim: At Fate's Edge by SureAI. The story of Enderal is not set in the Elder Scrolls world of Tamriel, but takes place in its own universe, creating a new, interesting world completely unrelated to Skyrim with a complex, dark storyline and thousands of secrets to discover.

this time I want to take a closer look at the soundtrack of Enderal, which currently encompasses more than 4 hours of music composed by Marvin Kopp, Nicolas Lietzau, Simon W. Authenrieth, Andreas Makusev and several others.

Enderal’s soundtrack uses mainly 2 tracks as leitmotifs:

“Towards the Horizon”

And “Black Light”

Parts of their melodies appear constantly throughout the entire soundtrack – also in the pieces used as exploration tracks.

These tracks are specific for each region; you will hear completely different background music when walking through the desert as when exploring the Northwind Mountains.

Several examples:

As exploring in Enderal usually is far from peaceful there are also several action/battle themes which are unique for the area you currently visit, too.

When you are neither exploring nor battling you will often hold talks with several people in the vast world. Among those there are many important people such as your 2 followers and comrades Jespar and Calia. These people all have their own character themes which capture their emotions and way of living.
Calia’s theme is “Two Souls”, Jespar’s “Every Day as the last”

The main quest of Enderal also has many special tracks which were adjusted to certain scenes and themes of the main story, such as “Echo of the Past” or “The Dead don't forget”

This already marks the end of our journey into the soundtrack of Enderal – if you liked it I hope you are willing to hear more of Enderal’s soundtrack; either in Youtube or in soundcloud. :-)

Will you release the Mod on steam ( like DX revision ) ???

Problem is that the Steam Workshop only allows file types which were part of Skyrim - that means .esp and .bsa files.

So they could neither upload the master file of Enderal (most likely named Enderal.esm) nor any video files.
As the users would have to download these from somewhere else and install them manually it is better if they just upload an .exe file which installs Enderal ;-)
Like all of their projects it will be uploaded at their site sureai.net, here and maybe Skyrim Nexus.

Got a quick question, but first of all I wanna thank the whole team for their hard work and time spend in the mod. So my question was (sorry if it's answered somewhere else) is it true that you guys use the "Skyrim Realistic Overhaul" texture pack? I did read on S.T.E.P. that it had to be taken out of the S.T.E.P. 2.9.1 core patch because the maker of the mod didn't want it to be used anymore for S.T.E.P. and it would be added to Enderal which is great!

I don't know anything about S.T.E.P and if they really had to take out the textures of Skyrim Realistic Overhaul, but Starac, who is the author of Skyrim Realistic Overaul, offered SureAI to use Realistic Overhaul quite a while ago Www1.sureai.net Also, SureAI stated somewhere in their forums that they are using at least some of his textures and that he is designing some Armors for them. So it's save to say that you will see some of his works in Enderal. Apart from that, Enderal in general will feature a lot of new and reworked textures, not only from Realistic Overhaul, but also from some other mods (e.g. Trees HD) as well as many texturs made exclusevily for Enderal. Overall they extimated in an interview one year ago that they are using only 30-40% of vanila textures and that they want to increase the number of custom textures even more once they reach the polish state. I just had to say that your product (after experiencing Nehrim) is triple A quality, hands down.

The butcher of Ark is such a great story, i cant get enough (release a book ) haha.

Even if it takes more years to release i wouldn't mind.

Thank you! The final chapter should be out, soon... The proofreading is time.
And I actually will write a book after Enderal - I know how small the chances of finding a publisher are, but it doesn't hurt to try. :)

I'm waiting for it since 4 years - and I'll wait as long as it takes without raising complains and the like.

Most people think modding is easy going, sth you do along the way and no problem at all - let me tell you: Modding (especially with sth as big as Enderal) is exactly the same as developing a game!

When it takes 4 years for Bethesda to make another Fallout game with more than 50 people developing it, nobody raises any complains - but if it takes SureAI 4 years to do their TC with at best 12 people suddenly you have people even calling them at home by phone and telling them that they have to hurry up?!?

Even as a mere by-stander I am annoyed with the attitude some people display - as if they had any right to judge the time it takes to finish such a TC.
And the best is: if they would release it now the very same people would complain all day long about how buggy the mod and how crappy SureAI is; is this really what you want???

Especially when half of your team suddendly calls it quits after the modding community tells them that their work is worth pretty much nothing, and make death threats if you ask for 1$ in return for six months work (this didn't happen to us, but to a colleague).

This is a little off-topic, but still: The myth that mods and modding is all about passion and fun - and thus, people have a "right" to have it and creators have no right to be rewarded but are obliged to deliver and this as quick as possible, is ********. In the end, the whole shitstorm that resulted from the idea of paid mods damaged the community more than the idea itself.

If the community wants big mods for free, it has to wait until the people who developit it (and who are willing to put a shitload of their lifetime into it for free... Truth be told, those people are only a few) are done. ;)

At the end of the day, achieve the best possible quality is our main goal. Our philosophy is, if the quality fits, it doesn't really matter whether Enderal comes a year later as scheduled. You can't make a great game without having a great time while you're doing it.

Your philosophy is exactly right. The gaming industry proves it. Look at Witcher 3, delayed, but come out perfect, and the development is realtively open to fans. Plus they are customer friendly: no DRM, can choose between distributing services etc.. And fans are happy.
Compare it to the Ubi with AC: Unity.. Unfinished game, unsitisfied fans.
Take your time!
(Altought the fan in me wants to scream: Hurry, hurry I cant wait!!:-) )
