this is awesome! this brings atmosphere!
you know... this burning, smoking flying piece of slowly dieing piece of metall!
this is the atmosphere of war with battleships huge like citys!
this is what i want, i hope this is want we all want :D
...i want to say: keep your eyes on deathclones and this burning ships ;)
and thank you for your great mods!

thanks, much appreciated. I am actually working on a deathclone now, trying out new techniques to make ships explode and have pieces flying away a bit more realistic. It's a pain...

oh, is it difficult? maybe you can work together with all the other modexperts to help each other with making deathclones in generell

About your death clone
i dont know if its possible but it would be nice if for example a chunk of the ship fly's away at the last destroyed hardpoint. it will require multiple deathclones i believe but would add allot of depth into this rarely used section of the game

That's impossible, a ship can only have one deathclone.

And break-off props are already in the vanilla game, the idea isn't new but making them is quite a pain, and therefor nobody does it.

That, and parts of the ship flying off looks extremely stupid, unless it's a very far extruding part, which most sw ships don't have.

Looks great in action! I would say it is probably the best overall model and texture I have ever seen in game. I would give it the missiles since it was armed with them according to Wiki, and I don't think any other rebel capital ships are armed with them so it adds to the high tech feel of the ship.

Isn't the Home One a little fast and maneuverable for its size?

It needs to be maneuverable as all of its turbolasers are mounted broadside.

Description

The Nebula isn't actually that impressive in terms of raw firepower. What justifies the massive build cost however, is its ion cannon. The dual heavy ion blaster (fancy name) can disable everything up to an ISD for 10 seconds in one salvo. It fires once every 20 seconds. The stun is not as heavy as the planetary ion cannon, but it's pretty powerful non the less. It's also got high health, so that your ship wont be overwhelmed. This'll allow maximum use out of its ion cannon.

As the ship doesn't have that much straight up firepower, I consider this ship a utility vessel and I highly advice building some other ships that provide the firepower needed to handle larger vessels like the ISD.

The weapons are all very high range, and I'm considering adding heavy missile launchers to the ship.

Also, if the nebula (the gascloud, not the actual ship) in the background looks distorted at times that's because it moves around and distorts very slowly. It's not very visible when you look at but if you look again after a minute you'll definitly see how the background has changed. I thought it'd be a nice touch.
