This mod catapults Empire at War into 2077. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.
Severely reduced the speed of lasers and turbolasers. Fighter lasers are now veeeeery slow. TIE bombers and fighters now fire their iconic dual laser bolts instead of single bolts. I'll likely upload a video sometime about it.

Assault gunboats when? :P
There will be no assault gunboats in the mod. The Rebellion is supposed to have the stronger fighters, and the empire already has the TIE Defender and Hunter as very strong bombers, so adding more strong craft to the Empire doesn't fit the theme IMO.
Yeah i agree. It wasn't a serious suggestion. As i mentioned before, if anything, the Rebels should get a shuttle/freighter type ship.
Alright I'll bite. What's a few good candidates? It needs to be somewhat widely used and not obsecure, something flavourful if possible.
(Godamnit i typed out a wall of text and i clicked the wrong thing, gone text)
Escort Shuttle:
Starwars.wikia.com
Assault Transport:
Starwars.wikia.com
Stormtrooper Transport:
Starwars.wikia.com
These three are the best contenders imo.
All widely used by the Rebels and no more obscure than the Interdictor SD or a Quasar Carrier.
The first 2 would be best because they have more of a combat role, where as the last one is mainly a transport/boarding craft.
A squad of 3 Shuttles with concussion missiles or 2 transports with protons would also give the B-wing a bro to hit bigger ships with. As you said the Empire has 2 craft like that. I know complete symmetry is not the goal, but it would still be a craft focussed mainly on defense/screening of larger ships.
Very mutlirole, which fits the Rebels i think.
Hang on, you did say rebellion yes? Those all look imperial to me. I do actually have the escort shuttle modelled and rigged, I made one for megabalta, but those things are hardly rebel looking.
They were used by the Rebels yes.
Put the Rebel emblem on them, and red markings.
The Nebulon-B can in the same way be called an Imperial ship.
Especially the Assault Transport isn't any less Rebel looking than a Gallofree transport or the Falcon.
many Rebel craft are either stolen completely, or stolen designs. The 'Rebel' look in my eyes is a mishmash, a pair of assault transports with Rebel markings would cenrtainly fit in.
Hell just the Falcon is a modified ship, the Escort shuttle looks like lambda modified for combat, just up the rebs alley.
Theforce.net
Well, yes, I agree, but that is kind of the problem, it looks like an imperial shuttle. It must atleast look somewhat rebellionish imo.
For the Escort Shuttle, yes. Because it has the look of the Lambda, which is an iconic Imperial craft.
But surely the ATR-6 qualifies? It doesn't look iconically Imperial.
It would be perfect. It can hang around capital ships and stop enemy fighters / bombers with it's turrets. Act like a real fighter screen and not a dogfighter.
And since it could be armed with protons it can also attack bigger ships. Very versatile, very multi-role, very rebel in my view.
Ofc ultimately it's up to you. But i do see why you wouldn't use the shuttle.
Oftewel, ge kekt mar ;)
All of the linked ships originate back to the X-Wing game, where the Assault Transport is almost exclusively used by the Rebellion (together with the Starwars.wikia.com which has a more rebellion-ish look although being the upgraded version of a originally Imperial design), the Stormtrooper Transport is equally distributed to both sides and the Assault Shuttle being mostly (but not exclusively) an Imperial craft used for escort duty. The Lambda is being used by both sides frequently.
Isn't the new u wing a hybrid of fighter and transport shuttle?
yeah, you're right, a transport/gunship according to the wiki.
We're talking Expanded universe, disney verse.
*Not disney verse
Well looking at the track record of his two mods, he prefer his own style than following the canon strictly.
I mean he just implentended a totally fanon ssd design.
Proper canon (EU) > Fanon > Disneywars

I think the U-wing is a great design and fits with the rebels perfectly looks very rebel to me.
Nice! Will there be Wingless MC80 cruisers in the mod?
I've already got one, I already rerigged it with new lights and engine glows, I just need to rerig the turrets and think of a role for it: I.imgur.com Thanks to Doci for providing the model and base texture.
I still have some things I need to take care of first though, a commission for someone.
I'm impressed! I actually have a suggestion. Maybe the wingless could be:
1. A heavy attack cruiser
2. An escort for Home One
3. A battleship
I'm actually considering replacing the assault frigate with it. Since it's missing two wings that gives me excuse enough to say it has fewer weapons than the winged mc 80, and have it still be believable enough to trick myself into believing it.
I would actually advise against that. Given the rebel's position, they need all the firepower they can get. I'd suggest having the Assault Frigate be a heavy frigate and the MC80's as the main attack cruisers
Eh. Just make it a cheaper battle ship than the liberty. The Alliance has a small ship roster as is.
