Just looked at that, the eclipse is literally less than half of 35km lmao.

it's 17km, it's the most massive ship-class the Empire has built, but 2km Shorter than the Executor-class

With the few "fan-created" Ships in the list, I think that might've been done because the person that created that list wanted to have atleast his Malevolant variation a good bit bigger (2km) than the Lady Ex, but wanted to avoid any possible "accusation" of "Of course, the guy who included his own designs just HAD to make it the biggest/longest/whatever ship"

Didn't read the comics but I'm pretty sure I heard the Eclipse was over twice the size of Executor which mass wise sure that's probably true even if you take the shorter length since it's a lot thicker. At the time that was written though I believe the Executor was still at 8km so a 17.5 km Eclipse was over twice as long so when the Executor kept going up in canon length it would make sense the Eclipse would too. Not saying I agree with 35 km just saying I get where it's coming from. At the time of that drawing Executor was 17.6km canon length so 17.6 x 2 = 35.2 which is where that length came from.

I like the thinner version which looks more correct to the movie. The Dice model would make a cool Executor 2 or some other fanon design saying it is broader for larger reactors and heavier firepower, shields, etc.

Description

After some very careful comparison with the original Executor movie model ( Modelermagic.com ) it was found out on our Discord ( come join! Discordapp.com ) that the DICE Executor model isn't actually as accurate as DICE makes it out to be, and that it has made several changes to its model so it can better serve as a back ground prop, including a full 20% depth increase. Which is a bloody shame because I had hoped to use it as a reference for my engine sections dimentions. Since I had it open in the file I figured I'd make some comparison shots.

From certain angles the new DICE proportions do look nice, but after some panning around the ship it's clear that this isn't what the Executor movie prop looks like, and as such I'll not be using the DICE proportions. It could make for an interesting thicker variation, perhaps as the Malevolent variation of the Executor. ( Abload.de ) But since we're not building that one, we're going to stick to the movie prop.
