Please follow the basic installation instructions if using the archive. REMEMBER: Large modifications MUST go into your C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod folder!

My game still crashes at the loading screen with, a "runtime error, the application has been terminated". I used this download because the self installer wont function on my computer. Can anyone give me an insight to what's going on? :/
Yes, you have a 32bit operating system. The Self-Installer is for 64bit Operating Systems only.
Your only recourse is to follow the instructions in the description of the download.
I cannot seem to get it to enter the available mods drop down list. Is there something I'm missing. I followed all instructions to the letter, including the documents mod folder.
It sounds like you didn't copy over the ElderKings.mod file to the same place; the .mod file basically tells the game where to look for the mod.
the video file with .mod? it is sitting right next to the elderkings folder
Only other reason it wouldn't show up is you installed it to the wrong place.
It's also not a video file, it's a basic text file with a silly choice of file extension on PDS's part.
I've got the mod to load now, but it does not display tamriel. All characters and places are still European.
Definitely sounds like a wrong installation directory.
Well, I have tried placing it in various combinations both in the mod folder of the root directory and the mod folder of the document directory. Something just isn't working right; I don't know what else to do but wait for a installer for a 32-bit.
There won't be an installer for 32bit anymore; the mod isn't considered compatible with 32bit OS due to the shear number of issues people experience and the fact 32bit systems are quite simply put, last generation. I put off upgrading to a 64bit until early last year, I'm glad I did though. You should definitely consider it, not just to play EK but because lets face it, 32bit is going the way of the dinosaur.

Never mind i did some file hunting and found the problem. so far no problems great mod. :)
Could you enlighten me as to what the problem was?
It may help to know the solution if others report the issue.
i emptied "Everything" located in C:\Users\username\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod and reinstalled the mod, im not positive if i missed a file from my previous install or if there was a conflicting mod but after clearing the folder i havent had an issue.
Hello, i keep getting a run-time error i had to install it with Zip and i did indeed do it 100% correctly. I had to use the Zip because the self installer wouldn't recognize that i had 4GBs of RAM. However this can't be because i have a 32-Bit system because i currently have Windows-64. Any help would be fantastic the mod is great would love to be able to play it.
If you followed the instructions correctly and it's still crashing it means your computer doesn't meet the minimum specifications to run the modification.
All I can suggest is that you click "read more" in the description and follow the steps there regardless of if you have 64 or 32bit OS.
Do remember though that if you -don't- install the Non-LoR files and you -don't- have Legacy of Rome (or you -don't- check Legacy of Rome to run with Elder Kings), you will crash.
I crash whenever I try and load a pre-made/custom character.

How does one obtain the amulet of Kings? ive fulfilled all requirements for the empire but i can never find it. And the stewards survey on sancre tor has a 3% chance, is that what im supposed to do just wait for it?
The mod doesn't crash anymore since I disabled some portrait DLC's but I still got one problem. I can tell the one county from the other but all mapmodes are colorless for me. I know this might be due to my intel integrated chipset but I already updated all of my drivers.
Unfortunately it means your laptop has -just- under the required "umph" to run the mod :(

Hello, I can run the game but all characters have weird names and provinces are all called "PROV 143, PROV 144 etc...".
Am I doing something rong ?
This issue is caused by one of three things;
1) You installed to the wrong location. You should be installing to exactly where you're told to in the instructions.
2) You're running other mods alongside Elder Kings; double check, then triple check this as it's quite common now for mods to remain checked even when previously they didn't.
3) You've installed 0.1.4a over a previous installation of Elder Kings; -always- delete old versions before installing new versions. These are all full releases and -not- patches.
Those are the only 3 causes of this issue.
100% guaranteed fix based on previous feedback; Delete your Elder Kings installation and reinstall making sure to follow the instructions.
