The E Wing Starfighter was meant as a replacement for the X Wing. Due to design issues the fighter did not see much use until the need arose for a starfighter that would be able to handle both the numerous fighters and heavy frigates of the Empire. The E Wing was redesigned with cutting edge technology that allows it to have heavier armour and shields than an X Wing while being able to match its speed and agility. Armed with 3 laser cannons and two proton torpedo launchers, this heavy fighter is a serious threat to the enemies of the New Republic.
