The Avenger-Class Assault ship is a new Imperial ship designed to pound enemy ships from both inside and outside of a battle. armed with 2 concussion missile launcher, a proton torpedo tube, as well as 2 turbolasers and 4 lasercannons. The Avenger is able to pound enemy ships from a distance or wade into the midst of a battle, relying on its heavy armour to protect it. Due to the nature of the armour, usually found on capital ships, the avenger does not have a hanger to prevent a weak point that rebel fighters could exploit. Imperial standard tactics is to pair the Avenger with one or two Escort Carriers to provide fighter support. It is not unusual to see this combination espcially on patrol at critical planets and installations
