ESF is a fast paced, 3rd person fighter based on the hit anime, Dragonball Z. Select your favorite character and fly, power up, transform, melee, and beam your enemies into pulp. Each character is given signature moves and abilities to compliment different style of play. Some are stronger in hand to hand combat, others are better with energy attacks. Play in three different game modes, deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the dragonballs. There is a learning curve so newbies beware. This is not your normal Half-life mod.
Development over the past couple months has been focused on a lot of back end projects; bug fixes, tying up loose ends for existing code and reworking some systems, such as player movement. The downside to this is that it's really hard to show pretty pictures and videos for a lot of the code changes. However, GodGundam(model) and Enix(texture) have recently sprung back into action and have crafted a new Piccolo model.

Also, When you get a chance you should drop by the forum and thank the beta testers. These guys have been there week in and week out finding new bugs and testing fixes.

how do i stop meelers i block but they some how tele behind me and hit me in half a second. when i get on ground from a punch i get killed b4 i can get up and when i hit someone to ground i cant even get stuff to hit them whats wrong? is there a wiki for this mod i can not find one.
This, like everything else I've seen so far looks excellent. I've been tracking this mod for years now and I am very impressed with the progress, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS!
I do have one criticism however, despite having only three fingers and a thumb in the original manga, Piccolo has four fingers and a thumb in Dragon Ball Z. I don't mind I'm just interested in the decision to keep it old school.
The manga is the original work of art and we are sticking with that instead of the anime.
That aside the only reason why he has 5 fingers in the anime is because they would have to pay a fine if they made 4.
Pay a fine?
Well when people leave the Yakuza, they have to cut off one of their fingers to make everyone else know they were part of the mafia. Japan was trying to nicely sweep that under the rug and so if stuff hinting of less than 5 fingers was shown there was a big chance the owner of the show would have to pay a fine. Think about it. Did you ever see an anime where anyone has 4 fingers. They do the 3 finger ninja turtle hands, but never 4 finger ones.
A toutchy subject i guess.

Open GL only.
What difference would it make for the players? Is this going to be better for performance or is it something that is only relevant to the programmers?
Well. Pretty much everything in the game runs on Open GL. From the map system, to various shaders and even our particle system.
If we wanted to add Direct X support we would have to rewrite about 70% of the code.
I guess the only major difference for the players is that ATI is a bitch when it comes to Open GL drivers.
Ati has **** open gl drivers. That is ati's fault for be douchbags not esf's fault nor should esf have to double their work. If you have an ati, you get what you payed for...
