ESF is a fast paced, 3rd person fighter based on the hit anime, Dragonball Z. Select your favorite character and fly, power up, transform, melee, and beam your enemies into pulp. Each character is given signature moves and abilities to compliment different style of play. Some are stronger in hand to hand combat, others are better with energy attacks. Play in three different game modes, deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the dragonballs. There is a learning curve so newbies beware. This is not your normal Half-life mod.
A TC based on the American Dragonball Z series. Do your favorite character's signature moves while running, jumping, flying and teleporting around huge maps. Use abilities such as melee, transform, power struggling, attack swatting and more. = FUN FU

I am a 19-year-old Californianian. My name is Andrew Skinner and I am the leader (among other things) of ESF.
modDB.com: Earths Special Forces was thought up when? Why Dragon Ball Z? Is the mod like another game or mod in your opinion?
ESF was created by SS Vegeta and myself about two and a half years ago when we split from another Half-life mod named Powerup. Since Dragonball Z is so popular ESF shares a common theme with a lot of different mods, but we try to make our mod as unique as possible without straying too far from the world of DBZ.

Since 3 weeks before the release of beta 1.1.
modDB.com: Describe the best feature in the mod in your opinion? What should the person look for that they might miss?
That is a tough question because I like all of ESF (duh!). My favorite feature would have to be the animation system, mainly being able to roll around after you get knocked down. It gives me something to do while I'm getting beat down :0).
modDB.com: Describe the players and what weapons beta 1.2 brings and what player character you will use the most and why?
The main focus of beta 1.2 will be on advanced melee. We won't be adding any new transformations to this update.
modDB.com: How is the damage system in Earths Special Forces?
The damage system uses radial damage. Meaning the closer to the center of a blast the more it will hurt you.

Teamplay is my favorite gameplay mode. There's nothing like being able to work with someone and double team a person, or beat being double teamed.

Right now the spectator mode and the after images are really neat to play with. So far those are the best features of 1.2

Which character you choose will depend on what type of fighter you are. Each class leans toward a different style of play. For example, people who like to fight from a distance usual choose freeza because he has a long range finger laser and a controllable disc. While others like to fight as trunks because of his advantages in melee combat.
