Dystopia Version 1 was released on the 23rd of Feb 2007 - download it and play it now! Dystopia is a is a total conversion of Half-Life 2, currently under development by Team Dystopia, which places the player into tense combat situations in a high-tech world spanned by computer networks. As either Punks or Corp Mercenaries the player will fight through the physical world to gain access, via jack-in terminals, to cyberspace. Cyberspace is a three dimensional representation of the world's network. Inside cyberspace players will launch programs to hack into systems linked to the physical world while fighting off enemy hackers and defending critical systems. Dystopia has recently recieved some excellent real world media coverage in the form of a TV interview that Teddy and myself did for the Australian gaming show Good Game. Thanks to the wonders of technology, everyone on the planet can now check it out via the streaming video on the Good Game website. As well as hearing us talking about our experience as modders you'll get to see footage from the Version 1 beta. It shows off the new Dual Smartlock Pistols as well as action on the new map Undermine.

Speaking of new Version 1 maps, we'd like to share some shots snapped on Termi's latest masterpiece; Assemble. This map sees the punk forces infiltrating a secret corporate factory which has been hidden below an abandoned church. It's sexy and sacrelegious!

Assemble - Church Assemble - Hidden Entry

Assemble - Factory Floor Assemble - Data Centre

Team Dystopia are on the lookout for talented and eager artists to work on models for the new V1 weapons. If you're interested in joining our dedicated team of modders, please fire an email to dystopia@dystopia-game.com - be sure to include samples of your previous work.

Finally, there are a number of kick arse 3rd party maps currently in development. Our die hard community of mappers is always looking for players to help them test out their creations. Be sure to keep an eye on our mapping forum if you'd like to playtest for them.
