Outstanding work.

Truly outstanding work.

If this is just the work in progress, then I'm interesting in seeing the final work. :)

Thanks. The final will mostly be the same, just a little more refined / balanced in terms of the graphical effects.

Meant to say "interested," but still, keep up the excellent work. :D

Very nice.

How are you changing part of the scope texture on the fly though? Never seen that done before.

This has got to be one of the coolest mod features I've seen in all my stalker history. This seems absolutely amazing.

Believe me: It is! For me it's a pure pleasure to use this feature that has been requested for a long while now. It's DDraig who came up with the idea, though.

It is possible to make realistic red dot sights? With actual glow not just colored texture?

Theoretically possible, but currently not on my roadmap, sorry.

Swartzy Aug 8 2013, 1:47pm replied:

@ Dudok22: In COP anyways it's easy to do redsights that glow using models/selflight or models/selflightl (for a lesser effect). The same should apply to SOC. No new shaders should be needed as far as I can tell as long as the red dot is an actual model part and not just a texture.

That, is just awesomely cool to be able to switch the scopes on/off like that. Judging by the rest of the video looks like a majority of the shader work is around 80% done?

Hopefully about 80% :)

Not yet finalized, thus still a little unpolished but working: In DS 2.0 you will *finally* be able to (de-)activate the NV effect on scopes and binocs by key press ("on-demand").

WITHOUT having to install X-Ray Patch 1.0006 (thanks to DDraig)!!!

Same goes for thermal/infrared vision of course.
