[UPDATE: A hofix has been released to solve the inventory bug for Original Men of War and partially solve it for Assault Squad 2 (vehicles work now). A future patch or version is expected to completely solve this. Get the hotfix for the correct version in the downloads section.]

This is a full release of DCG 4.5 for original Men of War and a beta release of DCG v4.5 for the Men of War: Assault Squad 2. The Unit Pack is not included in the Assault Squad 2 release because it is still being worked on.

Please note that the version for Men of War: Assault Squad 2 has a number of issues still:

1) The most recent patch broke the mechanism that allows soldiers' inventories to carry over to the next mission. This may be fixable in the next version of DCG. [Update: fixed for original Men of War, but not entirely solved for Assault Squad 2]

2) The minimap and some material files do not reload between missions due to caching by Assault Squad 2. This can lead to strange textures on some maps and the minimap being incorrect. There is a workaround for this: the problem goes away if you go all the way back to the main menu of Assault Squad 2 between missions (or exit the game entirely). It is not possible for the DCG team to fix this, but perhaps Digitalmindsoft will fix it if users request it.

3) There have been problems getting the mod.info file to work with new patches. It is set for the current patch from Nov 17th, 2015. Future patches will require users to manually edit this file with the new patch version in order for it to continue working.

Also, a friendly reminder: Zeke, Ngvede and others on the team have put many hours into the vehicles, skins, and other content. Please do not re-use the content without giving credit (and please ask their permission, too). We see too many cases where someone uses their models without credit and then another mod, which would have given credit if they had known, re-uses those models without credit, too. Please help keep them motivated by making sure this doesn't happen!

NEWS! From today (2016-03-01) the DCG team no longer allow any other mod to use our work WITHOUT a written permission from us, and mods that uses our stuff, must have a proper credit list added. Mods that existed before this date, is allowed to use the work that has been released in earlier DCG´s, but all new models etc that is included in DCG4.5 (and future versions of DCG) is affected by the above. The reason for this, is due to the fact that the new stuff we added in 4.5 is already appearing in other mods without us being credited for our work.

Tanks - prototypes will be?

No, we will not add prototypes EXCEPT in cases where they were actually used in combat during WW2, and thus, you won´t see the Maus, Ratte, Löwe, Black Prince etc, but you´ll see the Dicker Max for example.

The new patches will be new equipment or artillery? Especially the Japanese tanks need!

Most of the tanks that was used by the Japanese in WW2, has already been added into the game, and we arent working on anything new for the Japanese at the moment.

Make sure you own Visual J# 2.0 Second Edition, links in the tutorial articles on this page. If you already own it uninstall and download it again. Go ahead and make sure you also have installed the other programs required. Once that is done reinstall the mod (delete the files in the mod folder and unzip them again).

Ok. I'm in Win 10 and for the life of me I can't get this Visual J# stuff installed. I download it, execute it, it asks me to uninstall Visual J# 2.0, which does not show up on my uninstall list on the control panel. Boom, there, I'm stuck and I'm pretty sure without this the maps can't be installed.
I require assistance with this and Microsoft hasn't been helpful. Not. One. Bit.

Nevermind I got it. Manually looked through my registry and found a shitload of entries about the damned J# 2.0 second edition that pointed to folders that didn't exist. Deleted most of them until the installation program worked. After that unpacking them maps was a breeze and excuse me while I go check this mod out.

Good to hear that you got it sorted out. Never had the same problem myself so thanks for telling us.

Yeah sure thanks no problem there, got a new problem now. I can't see the inventory of anything on the unit details. It's blank. I can still refuel and change paint scheme on vehicles though. And is it normal for tanks to spawn without repair kits?

If I remember it correctly (I hardly never checks the inventories of my units), you only see your equipment the units are carrying if you´ve added stuff yourself, like spare small arms etc.

It is normal for tanks to spawn without repair kits, in MoW:DCG these are carried by the tank commander (who also carries an empty fuel can). In future updates of the vehicles and infantry, it might very well be changed into vehicles spawning with repair kits etc.

Thank you for your replies.
As far as the inventory goes, I've picked up enemy stuff I've found, grenades, aid-kits, rifles, MGs, helmets and hats and I still can't see the inventory of the unit that picked up the stuff.
As for the repair kits, this piece of intel I've missed has brought much needed joy to me, and allowed me to capture a damaged enemy tank, but I strongly suggest you do change it to spawn in the vehicle. The reason I've missed it thus far is because both my tank commanders and the enemy's tank commanders got whacked and their bodies disappeared, losing the repair kit forever.

This is definitely the most useful mod I have discovered for Men of War. The ability to randomize a campaign and create a group of grizzled vets through many missions is very appealing. In fact according to Steam I've clocked over 800 hours on the game. This mod has kept the game fresh the whole time and in conjunction with the ability to alter model files I can basically apply this system with any war fighting scenarios that are available. (Check out the Total Krieg mod for new models.) I'd give…

Not balanced at all, retarded money system. After 3 rounds you will get spammed by enemy with 20 tanks vs your 3 inf squads or 1 tank ( that's all you can get because you can't get more resources....
