WARNING: You may find this mod difficult to install.  It is for singleplayer.  DCG can also be difficult to win -- it is designed to force you to retreat and live to fight another day sometimes just like in real life, but there are many strategies you can follow to improve your chances of success and many things you can do to adjust the difficulty from the default - feel free to ask for suggestions or help!

Hi DCG users!

Version 4.0 is available for download now!

DCG v4.0 Released

There are many new features in this version which you can read about in the changelog. However, the biggest change is the addition of a full fledged new nation to DCG, the Italians! The Italians have a full set of vehicles, cannons, and even aircraft which have been carefully modeled and textured from scratch by Zeke Wolff and Ngvede with great attention to detail. In addition, Zeke Wolff modelled and textured many Italian small arms and other pieces of infantry equipment. This is a massive accomplishment, since Zeke Wolff and Ngvede made these models all by themselves over a multi-year period and the project has actually made it to release.  The Italian soldier models and speech come from the Men of War: Red Tide game with permission from Best Way.

DCG for Assault Squad now for the first time has almost all of the vehicles and squads available in the original Men of War DCG thanks the efforts of Ty2903. Ty2903 has also added his realism updates directly into DCG for Assault Squad for this release. His Realism Mod for the original Men of War DCG is now available as a separate download below.

Have fun!

First, great mod! Kinda a mix between Hearts of Iron 3 and Men of War :D!!!

But, is it only me, or is it quite... ye know, hard?

Started Operation Compass as the UK because, you know, brits rule. And invaded the first italian sector, bardia. Won the attack very easily with just inf.

But now im defending against Two armies from north and east and they have got like 20 italian tanks against 1 Mk cruiser of mine.... and i got only 3 inf as well while they got a bunch. Is that right?!

Im replaying the map but i never get to defend for the 10 minutes, last time it was close, 2 minutes remaining. Should i save and continue with the defeat or I NEED to win this?

Thank you!! Great mod!!

DCG is known to be pretty tough now and then, and that is how it is supposed to be. The more victories you earn, the tougher the opposition will be. However, as soon as you lose a battle, the opposition becomes lighter again.

Now and then, the enemy can get a LOT of units against your three, no matter if you have won a lot of battles or not.

You can always take the battle as a lost one, and retreat by saving as Result (or whatever you named your save game as in the settings), but if you are defending your base map and you lose that battle, you will be relieved of command and have to start all over from scratch.

We are discussing within the team to make the defend-your-map type of battles to last longer, 20 minutes but with more time before each new wave. Ten minutes with a new wave arriving every 2nd minute is simply too much (and not very fun IMO).

Alright, thanks for the reply mate!

But does each campaign has its own difficulty or are they more or like balanced? If not, which one is the easiest for the UK? :D

At Compass i am just holding my starting line going up and down the tiles, 4 victories but now my matildas that were very much alive at the last battle have now disappeared,i guess that "ammount" number is per battle?

Really impressive work on the Italian army! Sometimes it is quite hard to play with them, but for me is really enjoyable. I love all the Semoventes and the Saharianas. I really looking forward for the new version and the new vehicles.

What vehicles are you making right now? And any plans for more nations?

Keep up the good job guys!

I´m working on several new vehicles: some German haltracks, some Italian trucks and other utility units and cannons for them to tow.

I´m also working on some Russian stuff, and some UK early stuff.

Plans for future nation addons do exist, but I prefer to keep them to myself for the moment.

Happy to hear that you appreciate all the hours we spent to create the Italian nation! :D

here is another fan that appreciates your sharing your work with us my friend. I hate to push but I think you already gave me a happy reply regarding the U.S. Marines making a showing possibly next release. Is that still possible? Thanks again for all your hard work and your comrades too.

Sounds like you are missing something your operations folder in the mod files. Check this path, Assaultsquad/mods/campaign/operations

Sorry, I dont know. I have no knowledge about this kind of stuff, I´m only doing new 3d models and maps.

Jason1 is the one who can tell you more, but he is super busy with his real life for the moment.

This is definitely the most useful mod I have discovered for Men of War. The ability to randomize a campaign and create a group of grizzled vets through many missions is very appealing. In fact according to Steam I've clocked over 800 hours on the game. This mod has kept the game fresh the whole time and in conjunction with the ability to alter model files I can basically apply this system with any war fighting scenarios that are available. (Check out the Total Krieg mod for new models.) I'd give…

Not balanced at all, retarded money system. After 3 rounds you will get spammed by enemy with 20 tanks vs your 3 inf squads or 1 tank ( that's all you can get because you can't get more resources....
